Our QB back then was Romaro Miller and there was that awful Miller Lite ad campaign of the same name... We had an All American TE named Rufus French so Dave thought that was a pretty cool play on words as well... JP Sports' Marketing Department was never considered cutting edge by any means.

The Three Daves did many an Alabama-Vandy, Alabama-State game. There was nothing worse than getting the 11 AM kick in September. The entire student section would smell of whiskey sweat and throw up.

I was a pledge during the 2006 football season. Way too many early games

I still remember the 2005 Alabama vs Arkansas game. It was about 96 degrees, 100% humidity. I've never been so close to death at a football game.

I fondly recall the forerunner to the JP game. I want to say around '84 TBS started broadcasting the SEC game of the week with Bob Neal and Tim Foley. 11:30 AM baby.

The old Dirty Windshield game as some of the guys on Jox used to call it. It was a great way to start out your Saturday.

Didn't the name change to Raycom Sports at the end? A lot of memories with those games. Hated them. But also gave us all day in The Grove afterwards.

There were lots of classic games on JP sports (briefly Lincoln Financial the last few seasons).

The SEC Network pretty much made it unnecessary of course.

But as others have said, JP got like 4th pick of games so they usually got the CBS/ESPN leftovers.

Even sill, the SEC is deep enough that you would sometimes get really good matchups in that dreaded early morning slot.

Did it give the chicken fingers time to warm up in the mid-day sun?
