If UT lands Troop, I am 100% confident they will get his son, Todd Kelly's boy and the Berry Twins... I'm not a staunch TT supporter. I think he is overrated. But landing the legacy class is priority one in recruiting for Butch because that will boost chances with Hurd et al.

As much as it sucks that Tennessee has gotten so bad, I can still root for them. If Tennessee hires Trooper Taylor, it would be hard to do so.

No reason to expect it to. I don't expect the program to get much support from the university, fans, or even the big donors over the next few year either. This past coaching search was as embarrassing as any I've ever seen, and that was with us being considered the best available job. Hard to imagine what kind of crap we'll pull when it's considered a mediocre job.

Facts are this for Tennessee fans, until a change is made at the top of the ladder, expect mediocrity. Since Jimmy Cheek came on campus, the Vols have had 30 different coaches in the football program.

I think if the Board had to do it over again, they would've hired Brian Noland instead. Noland, in his early 40s, lost to Cheek by one vote...gets the job at E. Tenn State, is bringing back its football program and on track to build new basketball arena and fine arts center. Completely changing culture at a smaller, suitcase college. Board made a terrible mistake and UT as a whole is going to be paying dearly for some time.

Tenners want Trooper. They'll need to throw the bank at him.

I heard UT was broke. How can they afford both Trooper and is *ahem* recruiting budget?

I think UT will flop until Peyton retires from the NFL; then I think he will put papa Johns on the back burner and step in and put his considerable Fo-head grey matter to fixin things from fundraising to recruiting. He'll put the TOP back in....well, you know.

Only reasonable scenario I see helping UT out. UT's problems makes me feel better about AU's problems...

Some Tide fan said after the LSU/Bama. Basketball game that your brigade had been called up for service in Afganistan. No lie. Can't remember which Bama fan. Guess he missled all of us....
