Not saying this won't happen, but why leave a good thing? If he continues to have the same kind of success, he will have a tremendous legacy at the school. Plus, assuming there aren't more off-field issues, he has job security.

Because He can never win a conference title or sniff a NC there?

see, I don't think anyone can out-bid Vandy... they're paying Franklin over 3 million, supposedly
Well Vandy can afford to pay him whatever they want but what they'd be willing to pay is a different matter. I think him leaving would have more to do with a program having a stronger commitment to football overall than Vandy as it relates to facilities, recruiting budget, stadium, etc.

I'm not sure his style would be all that successful at a more established pogram... and some of the dumb things he does he can get away with at Vandy (cold-calling radio shows, stupid tweets, etc).
I think he does those things at Vandy because he has to. It's not likely he'd be doing that at one of the premier jobs in the conference. Much like Lane Kiffin changed his style when going to USC because he didn't have to make as much noise there to build great recruiting classes and the like. Coaches have to take very different approaches to getting attention at different schools.

they've relaxed admission requirements for their athletes

This is true, but its also relative. Vandy's lower requirements are still pretty high for an average SEC football player. Its not like they are admitting people who fall asleep on their desks in class or who score a 18 on their ACT.

and they're paying big time salaries to Franklin and have beeen able to hold onto their assistants.

Sort of true. We don't know what they pay. But assuming you are right, Vandy still looks down at athletics. They think its "cute" or "neat" that their football is good. Not a single fan is poisoning trees if they loose a game.

They're also building a new indoor practice facility and will eventually renovate/expande Vanderbilt Stadium.

They are, but they are also land locked and limited in what they can do and where they can expand. Their facilities will NEVER compare to UT, Gump U, LSU, Auburn, ect ect.

I have my doubts he can do that.

For good reason. Vandy will never, year in and year out, compete for an SEC championship. Standford can because they play in a weak conference. They are also the only "super" academic university on the West Coast. Geographically they have an edge.

Further, the admin is only going to go so far in their support for football. They will NEVER let football outshine their academics. Basketball is where they will make their stand because its cheaper and easier to compete without lowering their standards.

Ya they do. Just like every other school in the SEC.

In other words, they have their priorities in order.

Not according the the majority of the rant.

All I can tell you is that if my son was good enough to play SEC football and he had offers from UT, LSU, Gump U, UGA or Vandy - I would hope he would choose Vandy.

I think you're selling VU's commitment to athletics a little short... basketball, baseball, and football have had solid success of late. Will be interesting to see what they do with Stallings if he struggles again this upcoming season.

No doubt. For them they have had incredible success. By in large this is their golden age of athletics. I honestly can't remember a time when their athletic program has ever enjoyed this kind riches. BUT, history suggests that it will be short lived though.

Stallings. No one really knows what his contract is right now. (Private school and all) The sharks are starting to come out. If he has a tough season next year - he will. A lot of people are going to be calling for him to be fired. Vandy won't do it, though, if he has a lot of years on his contract and its a high buy out.

I might if I didn't think he had any prayer of playing in the NFL.
