Not a troll thread, but a serious question to Bama fans. How good of a passer is Hurts really?
Hurts is extremely cool under pressure and a great athlete, but my impression is that Hurts benefits from Kiffin's schemes and play calling which allow for easy completions. Hurts looks inaccurate when throwing the ball downfield on routes 15 yards plus. Hurts completes some longer throws because receivers are so open. Hurt left a lot of yards off the stat sheet against Rocky Top because he couldn't hit receivers in stride.
Again, not a troll, just seeking honest evaluation.

He's good enough to win a national title

He's not a great passer, Not now anyway. Usually when you have good wheels u generally don't rely as much on passing skills. Aj mccarron had to be a great passer.
Hurts isn't awful by any stretch but he's struggling in the pocket. He's much more comfortable, and accurate, when he's on the move. If the perimeter is taken away I'm a little nervous but nobody ever took it away from mariotta who I didn't, and still don't think, is a great pocket passer.

The dudes a true freshman. He's fine.

He is crazy good for a Freshman, but he's still only a freshman.
That being said, Kiffen knows his strengths and calls the game accordingly. If you want to beat Bama you have to take away the short pass and the run. You have to make Hurts beat you downfield. The thing that makes it difficult is that he can extend plays with his legs. So you have to take running away two different ways.

He's a 50-50-50 passer.
50% chance somebody catches it.
50% chance the dirt catches it
50% chance he gonna run with it.

He makes some really good throws. He makes some not so good ones, too. We hope the ratio changes on those for the better.

That works 60% of the time, every time.

My impression is that Hurts is uncomfortable in the pocket and the key to beating Bama is to force Bama into 3rd and medium or long.
And I know you can say that about every team and I know no one else has a defense that scores points like Bama's. But I think the key to beating Bama is to force Hurts to pass on predictable passing downs.

Why is the Tiger Rant leaking again? You don't even play Alabama this week. Go swim in the cesspool with the rest of the mutants, please.
