I doubt he will, but there is a possibility he could get fired for that.
That's embarrassing.

Yes, I do think it is a leap to go from a generalization to an assumption that everyone in that group must be the same way. That is the very heart of a stereotype.
You are absolutely correct. but stereotypes are based in fact. Hey, as I said...I have no quarrel with you. I am a conservative Christian. I hate racism, too. But I thought his comment was aimed more at liberals than at minorities. (I'm not for taking shots at liberals, either, though...just not needed)
I'm glad I could find the entire clip. I know how the media works, and when i saw how the clip was suddenly cut, I figured there was more to the story. Context makes a lot of difference.
By the way....96% of all blacks that voted in the 2012 election voted Democrat. That is not a criticism. That is a fact.

It was the wrong color and who wants to use Mississippi State gear anyhow. It's probably tainted with suck.

Actually...I looked up his bio on the Jackson State page. he is from Miami. I would assume he is Latino, but that is a guess.
And there are plenty of conservative Cuban-Americans. So, let's just leave the assumptions at home on this one.

I didn't assume he was liberal. Somebody else did. I was just analyzing why the other poster assumed he was liberal.

looks to me like he is just basically tired of talking about it all...like we have seen most coaches do....
That may well be the case. I could see how you'd get irritated with the constant talk of it, especially when it's framed in a way that talks about how awesome others are for donating instead of your team. A coach wants to be talking about his team not in-state rivals being awesome.

if he is gonna be a coach, he has to learn how to handle that kind of thing with tact though, or he will be made to look like the bad guy 100% of the time...
Yep. It's the thing most HCs hate but if you're gonna remain an HC, you have to learn to deal with the press, boosters and those connected with the program and the feelings of all kinds of people. He can't afford to make his school look bad (that's true for any coach) and he did just that.

Doesn't matter how many times they talk about it. They still have to maintain a level of professionalism.

Exactly. the interview was edited badly. Why? because the media wanted to create a story.
Edited? I didnt see the same video you did. The dude is the coach at Jackson State. Sportscenter is not an everyday interview for him. If he had any other issues I would fire him if I were his boss, otherwise he would get his arse chewed out.

well, since he just upset the #1 team in the country, I'd say you probably wouldn't be firing him...

Its Jackson State and they won one regional game. If he is a dick on national TV just think what its like to have to work with him on a daily basis.

Eh, he was just annoyed that he got a bunch of shite with #hailstate all over it.

Alma Mater - University of North Alabama. Makes sense now.
I'm pretty sure there's no rivalry between MSU and UNA.
It probably has more to do with the fact that he's from Miami.

I agree. Not trying to be a smartass but that was kinda my point. HCs have to learn to kiss a lot of asses to stay HC.

Let's just be glad they are out of the tournament.
Don't know if anyone else saw his other interview today, but he was a complete a-hole in it as well.
