Typical liberal.. He needs his arse whipped.
He's liberal because he's black? Or because he's at Jackson State, or because he coaches baseball?
Which of your amazing intuitive skills did you use to determine he is a liberal?

In his defense...here is the entire interview. He DOES say he appreciates everybody helping out. Check out around 1:25 mark

Would you not agree that most minorities vote a liberal ticket? I thought he was Latino....but I think the majority of Latinos vote a liberal ticket, too. I mean....it isn't racist to state a fact...and statistics show that most minorities vote liberal.

How did you make the mental leap from "most minorities vote liberal" to "if he's a minority, he must be a liberal?"
If this talk goes unchecked around here, it just gets worse and worse. First it's an ASSUMED liberal coach being ungrateful, then it's those HBCU's in Mississippi that are just crazy...and so on.
Personally, I heard a man make a statement that sounded ungrateful. I didn't hear everything he said, but from that clip I can understand people calling him ungrateful. I see no reason to expand that to a whole class of people or a whole university system.

Well glad to see this jackass is gone from the tourney soon.....hard to make me root for ULL but this guy may have pulled it off.
Posted on 6/1/14 at 4:52 pm to DawgsLife
There were players that were very appreciative and made that known through tweets....then later on they were deleted. I assume the coach told them to delete them.

looks to me like he is just basically tired of talking about it all...like we have seen most coaches do....
if he is gonna be a coach, he has to learn how to handle that kind of thing with tact though, or he will be made to look like the bad guy 100% of the time...

You really think that is a leap?
Let me get this straight. It is a fact that most minorities vote liberal. So, if I see aa Minority, you think it is a leap to assume he is liberal?
You said he is black. Ok. I'll take your word for that. Would you like to guess what percentage of blacks voted Democrat last election?
My question to you would be...why do you think it was bad for the coach to be called a liberal? Is it a bad thing for him to be liberal in your mind?

Which is why I went and found the entire interview. if you watch the link I provided, he DOES say he was appreciative of the donations. He also says he was very tired of being asked about the bus fire. He apparently had been asked about it all the time. (Which is also understanable)
Your problem was not that the guy was assumed to be a liberal...but that he considered the coach to be ungrateful BECAUSE he was a liberal. If you want to jump the poster for something, jump him for what really got your goat.
Be honest...aren't most minorities liberal? All you had to do was find the entire interview and then point out he actually was not ungrateful, just wanted to not talk about the bus fire.
I have no problem with you.

You don't meet a lot of people do you? Definitely not black. Looked Polynesian or some type of islander

Exactly. the interview was edited badly. Why? because the media wanted to create a story.

Actually...I looked up his bio on the Jackson State page. he is from Miami. I would assume he is Latino, but that is a guess.

Tired of talking about it? I guess I could understand that, but if that's his reasoning then his self-awareness is pitiful. He's the head baseball coach at JSU being interviewed by an ESPN affiliate. He doesn't have much room to be tired of talking about anything, much less a generous act. Free speech? Sure, but free speech creates as many idiots as it does geniuses (which I fully support).

Most coaches handle it better than that. A simple "we appreciated the donations" would've answered it succinctly and let them move on to the next question. Everybody knows ESPN loves to run shite in the grounds, but as you said you have to handle it a little better than that if you're the head of a program.

Yes, I do think it is a leap to go from a generalization to an assumption that everyone in that group must be the same way. That is the very heart of a stereotype.
That being said, thanks for posting the rest of the clip. I would not have known there was more commentary to consider until you added that.
