God, I'd hope so. No real parent would send their kid to a public school in Memphis.

Then again, anyone who had to move to Memphis to become wealthy clearly made a bad move somewhere along the line.

changing the school nickname from Rebels and disassociating with Confederate symbolism will help in that process.

How?

Wait, what HS did you go to? Don't answer if you don't want, but I think I know you. Or know your family, anyways.

If it's who I'm thinking of, your dad is a lot less of a douche than you seem to be. At least on the internet.

You're probably not vocal about your opinion in public either.

Two topics make me voice my opinion: if you think we should bring back Col. Reb and you think Kings of Leon is a good band. I'm pretty chill, otherwise.

You probably don't. It doesn't start with Memphis.

No matter what we do, we're always going to have a black eye because of '62. Unless we can completely erase history, coaches will always put that against us. The confederate statue, confederate cemetery and even the name "Ole Miss" will catch shite. But none of them will ever be going anywhere. It's time to accept that and move on.

I don't think col. Reb should come back, and when Dixie goes I'm not going to freak out about it.

I also think we've gotten to the point where Rebels can be vague enough to get by on it, and it's not going to effect our recruiting any more than having another name. It's just not. Our lack of recruiting power is a reflection of our resources. Period.

And while we're making assumptions about each other, did you actually grow up in the city limits of Jackson?

I DO know you or of your family anyways.

Christian Brothers I assume?

My best friend graduated with you. Or maybe it's a year apart.

eta I make fun of him all the time for going to an all boys school. And now I can make fun of you too.

ah, well shite. I could be off base then. Lots of Fedex money in Memphis.

I'll say this though...his family is made up of pilots..if that rings any bells, then we might be onto something. but I'm beginning to think I'm wrong.

Jackson, Madison, and Ridgeland. Really not sure what that has to do with anything. This ain't Atlanta.
