I don't think everyone disagrees with him. I personally don't think it should matter, as the war wasn't all about slavery anyways.

But the confederacy DID try to secede from the USA, so I could see where people wouldn't want such a name being associated with their school.

But at the same time, people seem to be getting more and more sensitive these days.

Again. UNLV WANTS to look like the confederacy. Why aren't they condemned?

That's exactly my point... IMO, that is the main reason for our poor performance

The sole reason for poor academics is the fact the state sets all the admissions standards... If we were a private university we could keep the stupid TX and GA frickers out.

Exactly. There's a reason we have such a high drop out rate among freshmen. It's because there are so many dumbasses that shouldn't be enrolled in the first place. I love that Ole Miss makes the entrance courses hard as shite.

I didn't take a single freshman level course my first semester. Cheating the system.

So is it the state standards or is it all those damned ole Georgians and Texans coming in?

Because one option sounds reasonable and the other sounds idiotic.

State standards but there are a bunch of idiots from out of state that get in that shouldn't.

I'm sure there are plenty of idiots from MS that get in as well. Likely a lot more. Blaming the out of state kids sounds like a cop-out to me.

Oh I'm not saying there aren't idiots from the state either. But almost 50% of our student body is from out of state so some blame has to be put on them as well.

So the Memphis trust fund baby wants to blame out of state kids for ruining his schools academic performance. Rich.

You're nothing but a spoiled little bitch who's had everything handed to him his entire life.

How much money have you pledged to the school under the premise that they change the team names?

Jesus. I didn't know this. In that case, the state really should tighten up the standards. I know 2 people who attended OM grad school that couldn't get in to other places. I was shocked that one of my fraternity brothers got into OM but was denied at Bama. He's a smart guy too.

Yes. They view the school as nothing more than a playground and most of them are gone by spring Freshman year.

Rich.

Why yes I'm that too.
