It's like you have trouble grasping that Saban spent nearly a decade coaching in the NFL

Not as the head man, bubba.

But I don't own a Trent Richardson Jersey or my wife doesn't have a houndtooth hat, cowboy boots or leather mini. Plus she doesn't weight 200lbs. Give me another few years.

Nick Saban is literally responsible for the ballsiest play in the history of football. Tell me what other coach outside of Tom Osborne and MAYBE Les Miles would call a play this ridiculous when the other team was scoring at will in a national championship.

With Clemson's well known issues on ST that season AND it being desperation time in a NC game, it would be criminal NOT to call a trick play to exploit it.

He wins through superior talent, not great coaching
They will never admit it til he leaves. Even then they will probably blame him not being there for why they started losing again instead of the REC/Emmert cheating ring getting busted up. I just hope he hangs around long enough for the charade to fall through and doesn't jump ship if Emmert leaves.

Wonder if he will ever try to coach again in the NFL, hahaha.
Why would he? Hell, he's making a fortune out of kicking LSU's arse every year.

This coming from a "cow college" fan.....or should we say Alabama Poly?

I can't understand why he wasn't successful in the NFL, considering his record at the college level

Because he had a shite roster at Miami? He still did better than the guy before and after him.

He brought LSU a title and won Bama a ton of titles. I think he's pretty good.

Pipe down, son, the grown men are talking now.

I have none of the above, but I do always find it humorous when the pot calls the kettle black.

Don't own an AU Jersey or have any AU t-shirts except workout gear. I have never witness more grown older men (pot bellys include) wearing football uniforms then I have seen at a Bama Game. That includes Pro Games in the Northeast

too late. he's in the twilight of his career. he will still have good teams until he retires, but...

the playoff system, plus the reemergence of competition will make it harder to win NC's. Clemson, Fla State, ohio state, Michigan, SoCal & Washington.

you have to be lucky, not just good, and Alabama has used up a ton of luck in the last 6 years.

don't misinterpret me - i'm not saying he won't win another one, but the big run is over.

that's just how life works.

Good point, I remember a thread the other day in which someone claimed he has never out coached any other coach during a game.

And nobody could give an example otherwise . The point was he out-talented and out prepared the other coach.

Last time I saw they had a surplus of them down at T-town Men's Wear. Trent being the benevolent guy he is signed a whole bunch of them for $0 out of the goodness of his heart. Maybe you can hand-deliver a letter to old Al and he'll get you one outta the back.

Probably because he didn't stick around long enough.

First two full seasons in the NFL:

Andy Reid 16-16
Pete Carroll 16-16
Nick Saban 15-17
Mike Shanahan 15-17
Bill Belichick 13-19
Jimmy Johnson 8-24
Bill Walsh 8-24
Chuck Noll 6-22
Tom Landry 4-20-2

The idea that Saban was just awful in the NFL is unfounded. He did however elect to come back to the college game and proceed to kick the shite out of the entire SEC. And for that, I am grateful
