Why is it that a portion of the LSU fan base is always dedicated to making the whole look like less than a sum of the parts?

Good god! The never-ending angst and jilted pimply faced teen boy syndrome. Worse, the response is entirely predictable, only the names change. Take a good laxative boys.. you will feel better.

He is the best coach that LSU has ever had.

He is the best coach that Bama has ever had.

He is the best coach in the history of college football.

I am a proud fan of Saban and always will be....really don't care who he is coaching.

I'm not taking anything away from the man (because he's a huge reason for this in the first place) but anyone who manages to recruit like 9 - #1 classes in a row is bound to win 4 titles.
Honestly, I think Urban is a better coach. Saban is a better recruiter.
But both are included in a class to themselves.

You'd give your left nut to have him back.

Meyer is definitely a better in-game coach than little nickie.

Actually, no.

His time is passing.

Just imagine if he knew how to coach, y'all. He'd go from being considered the best coach in college football, to being the greatest man in the universe.

If only he were a good game day coach. Right now he's just lucking into a NC couple of years by player talent alone.

jacknola. what the hell are you talking about? it's too late to jump on the saban train. I loved him when he was here. still respect him. he's the best.

but time happens to everyone. I still believe he will coach and recruit at a high level as long as he continues to coach.

it's just my opinion that the big run is over. and i'm comparing that to HIS accomplishments the last 6 years, not anyone else's. he can't compete with himself.

the competition is getting better, he's getting older.

hell, yeah, i'm tired of him winning so much. but it wouldn't be any different if it was florida, ohio state, florida state. anyone. it's more fun when the championships are spread around. I fully understand the one exception is if it's your team winning all those championships, though!

enjoy it while you can. it can't last forever. you started down the decline last year. and the decline is relative to what you've had the last 6 years. please keep that in mind.

Hell, nothing in this world lasts forever....and your definition of "decline" would be a blessing to any other school in the country. If you've got a 98 average in school, I'm pretty sure that a 97, 96 or 95 average would make the vast majority of the other students deliriously happy....you really didn't say much of anything.

Someone must of put some acid in his koolaid for that picture. He does not seem to take much time off from being a colossal jerk. It does not have anything to do with Bama because he was the same at LSU and all other stops.

Having said that, this modus operandi has worked well for him so far.

Nah. He just saw a bunch of puppies backed over by a semi truck.

He must really resent and hate LSU to go back to the college level and choose the Tigers' most bitter rival. He could have chosen UCLA or Boston College or even Notre Dame (I think that was before they hired Charlie Weis) but no, he chose BAMA!

I don't know about Sabanite but does it seem to anyone else that Tua Christ was recruited simply to try and smoothen the post-Saban era transition and that Jalen Hurts is such an obvious project that Nick just wanted to prove, maybe even to just himself, that he could make it work? I, for one, am all ears and eyes on the final season of the greatest college football dynasty I will ever see.
