Did Freeze really play a kid with a serious concussion? That's just so wrong if true. Freeze wouldn't do that. Would he?

Well clearly we aren't FSU. I don't see the problem....

New players in key positions will have that sort of effect on the fan base.

that wasn't the narrative before the season. the narrative was y'all would actually be better losing Treadwell, Nkimdiche, and Tunsil, among others. The reasoning was Nkimdiche never produced (well only after he was gone did he not produce in Ole Miss fans' eyes), Tunsil missed 7 games anyways last year (Ole Miss lost two of those), and they were still stacked at receiver.

Until Ole Miss finds a running game, they will never win the West

But the OP is correct. All my Ole Miss friends, of which I have a lot, seem to have given up on the season

I heard Freeze was going to try and play WR DK Metcalf who has a broken foot. They told him he was fine and just a sprain.

Totally agree. They have been like this for years on the Coast. Cocky as all hell. It's hilarious too because they have not want any kind of title since like the 60's.

Sounds to me like Freeze thinks he is the "doc" after just finding this...

"The freshman defensive end got banged up against Wofford, but Freeze said he’s “already passed his test” and “should be fine,” though the medical staff hasn’t yet reached a final determination."

Sounds to me like Freeze had already decided he was going to play even if the medical staff had not determined if he was ok to play.

You better hope Victor doesn't get carried off the field during the Alabama game game or you'll never heard the end of it.

here are the rules for concussion per the NCAA's website. If he really did have a concussion, it would be very surprising to see him play one week later. Seems like 7 days is the absolute quickest a player is allowed to come back

quote:

The initial management of sport-related concussion is relative physical and cognitive rest. Athletes diagnosed with sport-related concussion must be removed from play and must not return to sport-related activity for at least one calendar day and are to be evaluated by a health care provider with expertise in sport-related concussion. Once a concussed student-athlete has returned to baseline level of symptoms, cognitive function and balance, then the return-to-play progression can be initiated, as follows in this general outline:

1. Light aerobic exercise such as walking, swimming or riding a stationary bike. No resistance training. If asymptomatic with light aerobic exercise, then;
2. Mode, duration and intensity-dependent exercise based upon sport. If asymptomatic with such exertion, then;
3. Sport-specific activity with no head impact. If asymptomatic with sport-specific activity, then;
4. Non-contact sport drills and resumption of progressive resistance training. If asymptomatic with non-contact drills and resistance training, then;
5. Full-contact practice. If asymptomatic with full-contact practice, then;
6. Return-to-play. Medical clearance will be determined by the team physician/physician designee, or athletic trainer in consultation with a team physician.
At any point, if the student-athlete becomes symptomatic (i.e., more symptomatic than baseline), or scores on clinical/cognitive measures decline, the team physician should be notified and the student-athlete should be returned to the previous level of activity. Final determination of return-to-play ultimately resides with the team physician/physician designee.

How can you disrespect the fans of Ole Miss who hang banners for everything in the world? Don't forget their cheer "We ARE Ole Miss by damn!"

What did you expect? And don't forget their claim that they are the "Harvard of the south." They are superior to everyone in everything they do. Mommy and daddy convince them of this from the day they are born. It's natural they are cocky, arrogant and elitists. I understand them pretty well.

Some say that PLUS they feel as though a dark cloud is over the program (NCAA, etc.) and they cannot buy into the program right now.

I think this is the biggest factor. These players know this season will be erased. All the quality players are working on an exit plan. It is kinda tough to watch.

Losing NFL caliber corner, 2 starting RBs and starting WR all to injury or suspension will do that to a fanbase

Well then quit posting dumb shite.

I can't fathom any Ole Miss fan actually thinking that this team would be better after losing those three.

What Ole Miss fans HAVE been saying is that those positions will be just fine even after losing those three. And so far, Ole Miss fans seem to be correct when they were critiquing the team that they actually follow the most.

Our DLine is just as solid and deep this year.
Our WR's are fricking stacked...but still comparable to last year's.
And our Oline doesn't seem to have taken a step back from last year. To be fair to that statement....our Oline was pretty mediocre last year.

Losing NFL caliber corner,

The dumb coonass would have a point if he would have mentioned our thoughts on the secondary.

Losing Webster is devastating to what looks like an already paper thin secondary. Losing Elston and Hilton hurts like hell.

Your secondary will be fine bro. We have a true freshman throwing to our receivers if you don't know. Those guys may have the skill to occasionally get open but with your dline I am not sure our rookie will have time to get it them.

Furthermore, I am sure your kids will play inspired football. Hugh Freeze is such a motivator. I was planning on going to Oxford but I hate seeing us lose in person. Not that you need it but good luck.

Where do the Bears go if they lose to the Gumps? Only 1 SEC loss isn't that bad, but modern OM fan's whole argument for their fandom is "We beat Bama twice!"

This is the key right here. I think this winds up a defensive struggle. I think Chipper is going to find tougher sledding than he did against FSU but I also think Hurts is not going to have it as easy either. He has been surrounded by some real good talent and made some good plays but I have not seen him under pressure. 102K impatient home fans can be just as worrisome as a hostile visitor stadium if you are not playing well.

OM is going 8-4 at best then the NCAA is dropping the hammer. It's over for the Bears.

The only way to answer that will be if Ole Miss allows DE Victor Evans who just suffered a pretty bad concussion to play. One side says no way he can or should play, they other side says they need him and he should be fine.

So along with being a tranny lov'in, wife beating, washed up NFL talent evaluator; you are a board certified Neuro Traumatologist....good to know.
