As an LSU alum, I wouldn't want Petrino representing LSU. He's already been turned down by LSU in the past. He knows LSU doesn't want his trashy character here so he "turns down" LSU.

If they are offering coaches now, they are dumber than I thought, which is pretty dumb, considering how they handled this situation last year.
But if any coach would jump ship mid season, it would be Petrino.

And these messages are probably correct. Nobody is leaving a viable job in Sept. I heard on the radio this morning that all these rumors of LSU has contacted so and so are false. NOBODY has been contacted. But you can bet the warchest is being stocked and the lists are being made.
All of this contact business is through agents at this point and all of it is in a feeling out process. I will guarantee some of the people on that list know they are being considered.
And praise Jesus, God Bless America!, and thank God Bobby Petrino is not interested.
