Well seeing as Christine Michael and Trey Williams are both better, I hope we can find one back in the rest of the SEC that is better. In fact I know we can.

He should have had 25 more yards and another TD, but Kevin Norwood tackled him.

Yeldon is going to make a believer out of all of you...down the road this thread will be bumped..remember that before you spout nonsense.
The good ones are evident quickly, the great ones are evident immediately.

Well Bama's loaded and has too many weapon's to stop on offense so yeah probably.

If you are responding to me, I said before the season ever started that Yeldon would be the starter before the midway point of the season. He already took most of the touches in the opener, of course that was mostly to do with Lacy's health but that fumble he gave up is a good way to lose a starting position. Especially when a kid like TJ Yeldon is breathing down your neck.
He isnt going to make a believer out of me, I leading the damn choir almost a month ago.

Bama stole him from Auburn. Of course I am passing this on from a conversation I had with an Auburn fan so take it as you will. Since we got burned with Gunner Kiel I can feel his pain. Yeldon was supposed to be an early enrollee but apparently had been hidden in the Bama security vault until signing day. Sounds sorta of familiar if you were an LSU fan waiting for Gunner.
Bueller, Bueller?

He was an early enrollee. MVP of the A-Day game. Whoever told you that was an idiot.

Can't say I blame him, if you were a top back in the state where would you want to run the football? Signing his HS teammate didn't hurt our chances either. I'm just glad our staff came around on the idea of offering him at RB, they wanted him at safety following his junior year...needless to say he went in dry on everyone as a senior and saban saw the light

He swapped his commitment the day before the dead period and then early enrolled. He then went on to beast the frick out at the A-Day game, which he would have only been allowed to do if he early enrolled.
Your Auburn chump friend sounds like he has butt hurt of epic proportions.

LOL at the LSU fans saying that playing Michigan is the same as playing North Texas
Hilliard had 6 TDs against Georgia, Arkansas, and Auburn. Unlike Yeldon, Hilliard and Blue have actually played conference games against SEC defenses.
Congrats on your Freshman having a great first game, it doesn't make him a top 3 back.

This is what I like to hear from our opponents. Just wish it was the players saying it instead of fans.

I see a defense in that list.
Adrian Peterson was the best back in college football the minute he stepped on campus. Kenny Hilliard rushing for 400 yards as a freshman doesn't make him better than yeldon. Not saying he is or isn't, but that's shitty useless logic. Talent is talent, especially at that position. I don't see many Lsu fans calling zac Stacy better than any of their backs..but he has more yards. It's just bad logic

Adrian Peterson led the NCAA in carries as a freshman with 339, so its obviously fair to compare him to Hilliard, who got 62.

So crowning TJ Yeldon as a top 3 back after a single out of conference game over Kenny Hilliard who scored 3 TDs on a good Georgia defense as LSU's 4th RB is the logical position then?

He probably has more yards because he isn't splitting carries 3 or 4 ways.
Yeldon could be better than Hilliard, buts inane to assert this as fact with a one game sample.

To me, its more a matter of seeing him run the ball and recognizing superior talent. In his first game, you could actively see him doing things in the game that most backs dont pick up until their 3rd year. He was waiting for plays to develop and not getting ahead of himself. He was using his RB vision to see when lanes and holes were GOING to open, not see IF they were ALREADY open. He followed his blocks and shifted accordingly to make the most out of them. He made cuts without effort leaving defenders laying on the ground with broken ankles. He used his length to extend the play even after he was stopped by almost always falling forward.
It comes down to more than just yardage, which averaged over 10 yards per carry by the way. To me it was more about knowing what talent looks like and seeing it ways I havent seen in a long time.
There is a youtube video that is nothing but TJ yeldon carries from Sat night. Go watch that video and pay attention to his eyes. If you know anything about football, what you see will amaze you when you realize that this is a true freshman in his first ever college game.
He is so far ahead of the curve its insane.
