I'd already put him ahead of Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, and Forrest Gump as the greatest RB in the history of the universe.

Yes. Were you calling for Lacy > Trent last year. EL had a higher ypc but Trent was a superior runner, blocker and receiver.

Lacy is hurt. I wish they would sit EL until he gets healthy.

I think Fowler may be Bama 's best all around back this year.

I wouldn't say top 3 yet, but DAMN he looked good. A future star at Bama. I'm not sure on durability? Time will tell if he's an every down kinda back. But he definitely showed out

Fowler should be getting Lacys carries, and Lacy should get healthy. Fowler is the fastest 260 lb man I have ever seen. I love watching him run.

Yeah he pretty much averaged 2k+ yards per season as RB in HS, So I'd say he's pretty durable...I understand it's a lot different in college, but it's a good indicator...

Alfred Blue and Kenny Hilliard both broke 120 yards in the first game. Are they in the top 3 as well?

What does that have to do with anything? If youre going to crown someone top 3 in the SEC after just one game, you might as well crown Hilliard and Blue as well.

Being a freshman is a requirement to be in the top 3 backs in the SEC?

It was one game and it was against Michigan for God's sake. We still haven't seen Christine Michael or Trey Williams, who were also five star backs, play this year yet. He could be but damn, give it some time.

Yeldon is good but he is running behind the best offensive line in the country.

This. Did you see the stat where Bama had 175 yds rushing before any contact was made?Craziness.

We know what those two back are. They have ample evidence to say whether or not they are top 3 backs. They are not.

Y'all also played the sisters of the poor.

I wondered how quick it would take LSU fans to come and talk about Hilliard and Blue....page 2...not bad.

He would probably start every school in the SEC but Arkansas. So top3 isn't a stretch.

Um... no. If your just adding him to the current rosters, he would probably be red shirted at USC, Vandy, LSU and A&M at least. I know he wouldn't be starting over Lattimore or Stacy (upperclassmen who have proven their worth on the field over the lengths of seasons, not one game...).

If you put Lattimore, Davis, Stacy or Michael (maybe even Lane) behind the O line Alabama has they would be insane. That's why I'd rank them in that order for now until we know more about all the first game phenoms (Yeldon, Gurley and Gillislee even).

And I thought Lacey was going to be the greatest in the league this year. Thrown aside after one game, really?!?
