Tennessee returns all 5 starters from this year's team + gets Maymon back and adds top 15 overall player in Hubbs.

If KCP returns we should be better. We lose a spotty as hell 2 guard who's sole reason for being on the team is to hit 3s(many people think his freshman backup is better anyway) and a former JUCO forward who sucked until the last like 3 games.

If we can just get a littttttle more help from the post we could possibly be a tourney team. I mean hell, we had like 8 games this year come down to the final minute or 2 that we lost. I can think of 3 games right off the bat that we lost/got tied on the last play of regulation. It's not a stretch to think we can do better next year.

No one thought we were going to be great this season.

You were preseason top 3 and received first place votes.

Wouldn't that have been the 2009-2010 season?

No. LSU finished last in the SEC that year going a remarkable 2-14 in conference.

No Kentucky fans expected for us to be great is what I meant. I don't think anyone expected for us to be as bad as we are, but we knew that this team wasn't championship caliber.

Lsu should improve, but no where to go but up if you can't even make the NIT

State should be much improved. Gavin Ware will arguably be in the top 3 big men in the SEC. We return everyone, but Baxter Price, I think we can compensate for that loss. Craig "Chicken" Sword won't be forced to play the point either and will move over to the 2 spot, where he is more comfortable. NIT here we come.

This. And it's not even close. Would have only gotten 2 teams in the tourney if State wouldn't have won the SECT.

The SEC's power ranking is a little bit lower than it should be, IMO. The OOC doesn't look great, but as of right now I'd say the league has improved through the year.

State should've never been in that situation. Too much talent on those teams to be in that situation. Nor should we have missed the tournament the next season. The definition of underachievers.

I'd say next year power rankings will be based on the recruiting classes and who could come back:

1. UK
2. UF
3. Tennessee
4. LSU/Missouri
5. ??

As a sport of general interest, Lsu basketball is down there somewhere between golf and swimming,... maybe.
