I think the SEC is actually weaker at the top and I have serious doubts that Bama can win the NC in a rebuilding year. But, yea, top to bottom it might well be.

5/6 teams finished in the top 15 in 10.

Yea, Georgia losing to GT, Missouri losing to Indiana and SC losing to Clemson definitely diminished the prowess of the SEC from an objective perspective. The bowl games will tell us more.

This shite is hilarious.

Just because the "names" aren't what the Rant thinks they should be, the top is overrated and the bottom is better.

It's probably more fair to say that it's not as good at the very top, but everything else is better. This year's very top aren't quite as good as recent years, but overall, there were no weeks off this year. You couldn't overlook LSU, as usual, but nor could you overlook Mississippi State or OM or Arkansas. Auburn wasn't in one of its regular disaster years, and TAMU, while it definitely hit some shoals along the way, was still a very talented team.

This. There are no dominant teams this year. Everybody is kind of middling.

2011 LSU, Arkansas, and Alabama would go 3-0 vs 2014 Alabama, MSU, and Ole Miss. The latter two would get destroyed.

No, I still believe 2010 is the best. The SEC West this season certainly had the most parity, but it wasn't the strongest.

2010 Auburn > 2014 Auburn
2010 LSU > 2014 LSU
2010 Alabama (healthy) >= 2014 Alabama
2010 Arkansas ? 2014 Arkansas
2010 Mississippi State > 2014 Mississippi State
The only team that was undeniably better this season was Ole Miss.

LSU, Bama, Arky ranked 1-2-3 going in to the final week of the regular season and MSU wasn't terrible.

3/6 and Arkansas wasn't in the same league as Alabama or LSU that season.

Tier A
Alabama
LSU

Tier B
Arkansas

Tier C
the rest

I think it's a safe bet that this is the strongest bottom of the SEC West EVER. It is hard to believe how good the bottom of this division is.

I'm sorry, did they changes the goal of CFB games this season? Is the object to keep the score close or to win? 6-6 blows.

It will be a tough road, no doubt, but to win the conference and make it into the playoffs (as the #1 overall seed) in what most recognized as a rebuilding year is still very impressive.

Now if they manage to win it all making it 4 of the last 6, that will be something that I don't think has been matched in CFB history.

didn't really feel blowy at all considering most felt we'd do worse than we did.

I'll give you Auburn and LSU. The rest, not so much. 2010 Bama was much more talented, but they weren't healthy, so that doesn't figure into the equation. 2010 Arkansas was better. Sorry. 2014 Arkansas came into its own, but 2010 was consistently good throughout the season. Their two regular-season losses were 24-20 Bama in a game they almost managed to come back in, and 65-43 Auburn. That MSU was tough, but there's no reason I can see to put them above this year's MSU.

Anyway, it's a moot point. We're not comparing team to same team. We're comparing strength of the top/middle/bottom to strength of the top/middle/bottom. So we're not comparing Auburn 2010 to Auburn 2014, we're comparing Auburn 2010 to Bama 2014. And so forth.

Not sure this is best SEC west ever. Arkansas is probably the best SEC west team to finish last. Usually one or two teams are total crap. If they sweep the bowls, you might have an argument.

I just avoid saying a team blows when my team only beat them by a point. makes you look stupid and actually makes your team look worse.

but I'm sure you don't have a Bama degree so you don't understand.
