Do you need help understanding the definition of PREMIERE?

You are being too kind to it.

Is there a reason why premiere college football tickets are so expensive?
Absolutely.
Capitalism, supply and demand.., Basically economics 101.

Except that it hasn't. CFB is 2nd to only the NFL in tv ratings.
So maybe the MLB and NBA has culturally peaked.
Certainly MLB has.

And I think the insane amount of play stoppage and costs of tickets/parking/concessions/seat fees, combined with how great it is to sit on the couch and watch three games and eat chips and salsa and use your own bathroom will begin to effect attendance. Not to mention that the younger generations view this stuff completely differently, and watch sports differently. I think CFB is going to find it increasingly hard to compete for the entertainment dollar, except at those top 20 schools or so. I probably spend 2k a year on a pair of LSU tickets and there is just no way that my kids are ever going to find it worth it to spend that when they can tailgate all day leave and watch the games for free .
Could not agree more. The crash is coming for a lot of schools, specifically G5 schools.

I'm shocked that its second to the NFL. I figured most people that watch NFL would also watch college but you would have more people who only watch college. IMO, college is far more entertaining with the rivalries and players playing for more than a (cough) paycheck.

Sold 2 tickets when Ohio State came to town in 2006, got 1,000 apiece. Yes, I have great seats (they went to a Texas fan).
Paid $650 each for 2 extras for the 2006 rose bowl. Face was 125 (could only get four, needed six).

FSU and Bama combined put almost 200,000 people in the stands for home games. It's the first game of the season, easy driving distance for both fan bases, and falls during a 3 game weekend to boot.

I agree with all of this. Younger people aren't going to be interested in attending the games since they now will have many avenues to watch them from wherever they wish.
We gave up our season tickets for this reason. I got tired of people around me getting hammered, cursing and screaming every minute, and spilling drinks and generally making a mess.
Watching the game from home is way nicer to me.
I do like going to the occasional game, but that's the exception now, not the rule.

I wouldn't pay $480 if Christ, Elvis, and the Loch Ness monster were gonna walk a tightrope at halftime.

This. College football is more popular that pro football for good reason. And all the bullshite with players like Colin Kaepernick sure didn't help the NFL.

This statement couldn't be more wrong.
If you combined every college sports revenue, it wouldn't even come close to half the amount of revenue the NFL generates.
