I think we're seeing the other conferences step up their game against SEC teams.
It took a decade, but they know what they have to do to beat us now. They know what to expect. And spread offenses really neutralize talent disparities.

The problem that people don't realize/grasp is that the SEC was at its peak with Urban AND Saban were in the conference together.
If Urban was not at Florida, the SEC wouldn't have won all of those natty titles in a row.
The SEC will have some good teams every year, but the conference isn't at the level anymore it use to be.
College football has always been cyclical and anyone that has been following college football longer than since 2008 already knows this if they are honest.
The B1G East is going to be much better moving forward and will rival the SEC West for the best division in college football. The B1G West will be similar to the SEC East where there is only one or two good teams a season.

That's why the natty should be given to the sec champ and the rest is just show...

True. Harbaugh at Michigan is damn good for the B1G. Actually hope Michigan do well. Michigan being a Top 10 team is good for college football.

Instead of urban, you should say Tebow.Urban quit when Tebow left

Well, MI SHOULD improve a ton and get back to the national elite. PSU has a long ways to go before they are back to the national elite.
If both programs can regain their glory, then it will be a strong top end conference. This ins't a conference that will ever be good from top to bottom since it never has in its entire history.

we have what? 10 bowl tie ins - right?
And NO games against the PAC 12 - total bullshite. If you want to be (or continue to be) the best, you have to play and beat the best.
We have 4 or 5 teams that play an ACC rival every year - most SEC teams schedule an ACC foe at least once every 3 years if not every other year. Of our 10 bowls, like 4 of them have ACC tie ins - right?
The ACC is looked at as the weakest conference (which may be unfair); but perception is perception.
We need to shite can an ACC bowl tie in and create a PAC bowl tie in, hell, we really need 2 - one top tier and one mid tier

But those coaches coached in the SEC. Miles, Malzhan, and Chizik have played for or won multiple national championships as well, do you not count those? Only Meyer and Saban?
And good programs are good programs. They usually have the resources, fanbase, facilities and tradition to eventually get back to winning if recruiting maintains. In the SEC's case, recruiting hasn't just maintained but it has improved.

To be fair when the high water mark for three seasons is 2 conference wins there is only one direction to go.
I am really looking forward to watching that game this year.

ND embarrasses LSU.
didn't they win on the last play of the game?
... and needed a gift TD (the fake FG right before the half that scored a TD but refs decided to take it away) just to get to that point.

I disagree with this.
i think it depends on how you view it. Bucknuts and Meeshegan are getting back but the conference as a whole is falling.

It absolutely is the best. UGA, Bama, LSU and Auburn would win any other conference imo.

Oh yeah, definitely. The conference rises and falls on Miss State's fortunes. When they are down the conference is down.

glad you left out the IU loss.
We have yet to see the full effect of the SECN come into play, the SEC needs to shore up around the edges a bit, but it's coming.

One so-so year does not erase a decade.
Until the SEC is clearly not #1 for a few years in a row we're top dog.
I mean, top to bottom who is better? Nobody.
