Well, honestly, my hat's off to anybody who claims to be an Iowa State fan, regardless of circumstances. That has to be tough. I love your coach, though. He's an icon.

I'm a fan because I'm here for graduate school...but it's quite a change from the LSU football I was used to

No kidding though, people had high hopes for this season, with high hopes meaning 6-6 and bowl eligible. And they packed the stadium and parking lots to see that happen. The Texas game was a heartbreaker. People's expectations are just so much lower here...SEC fans don't know how good they have it!

Yep. I would be more inclined to be an SEC fan if anyone other than Bama had done anything worth a frick these last few years.

I really wanted Georgia to win last year.

It's much easier to be an SEC fan if you're on the outside looking in.

Because the SEC wins the NC. All other arguments are nonsense.

If I were an LSU or Auburn fan I admit I might have a somewhat different opinion. But I don't see why pulling for Bama in the NC is a bad thing even for an Auburn fan. Want Bama to take a step back? Beat Bama.

You're absolutely right. The problem with most of the LSU and Auburn folks is that we've beaten them so bad for so long...I mean we've taken their pride, their self esteem, their hopes, their dreams, and in many cases, their women (girls like winners ). I don't really blame them for their hatred, but it's got to be embarrassing to get to the point where you've got to beg other fans not to be for a team because they can't take care of their business themselves. What a bunch of pussy motherfrickers!...BE A MAN, you fricking s

Auburn winning in 2010 didnt seem to bother Bama too much.

In fact,it motivated us further to win another and bookend lil bro.

To be the man,you got to beat the man!

Any coach could do as well as Saban if he was able to convince the university to run up an insane amount of debt for the football program. Is this why Saban demands total control?

I probably wouldn't have taken it that far , but I agree with the sentiment.

Repeating myself, but it seems to bear repeating: If you want to knock Bama down, beat Bama. Don't hope for some Yankee team to do it for you.

You're really going to hate Texas next year.

Why? Mack is going to win out and go to a BCS bowl. Y'all are stuck with him for a few more years.

Alabama and Penn State were the most profitable athletic programs in 2010-2011.

The Business of College Sports collected data from the Department of Education and subtracted reported total expenses from reported total revenue to come up with figures that could be applied to both public and private institutions. Athletic departments do not report profit or net income.

Alabama made $31.68 million in net income—leading the SEC member institutions that made combined $91.6 million. The Big Ten was second among major BCS conferences with a profit of $83.33 million and was led by Penn State’s $31.62 million.

I'm beginning to be of the opinion that stupidity is considered an attribute in Louisiana.

I root for Kentucky, then the SEC. I have no issue rooting for other SEC schools when they aren't playing UK.

Bingo! I feel that the conference should be like family. We can fuss and fight among ourselves, but don't let an outsider mess with any of us.
Unfortunately, there are some among us whose sister is also their wife, and their brother may just also be their uncle, so the essence of family is somewhat distorted.

To me, it's also a level of respect within the conference - like respect between rivals. The "nobody better beat them unless it's ME" idea.

As an LSU fan, I want Alabama to do well so that when we beat them, it means that much more. If they beat us, I want them to go undefeated so the loss doesn't look as bad.

Then extrapolate that concept to the entire conference. A strong SEC is good for LSU, and it's LSU's responsibility to win the games on its schedule and prove itself in relation to them.

"But Alabama has aging academic buildings on its campuses that need upgrades but don’t bring additional funding to their campuses."
--------------------------------------------------

Also, if you've been on the Alabama campus in the last few years, you've seen where the money has been spent. The BoT decided some years ago to get into higher education in a big-time way, and that's what they're doing....and the football team is doing more that their share to pay for it!

Congrats on having zero to show for this "success" you claim.
