I normally do not root for anyone else in the SEC unless they are playing someone I hate. I rooted for UGA against Clemson. But that's as far as it goes.

I don't think we're SEC fans as much as we support each other because the stiffer the competition, the better it plays out with rankings. There were teams like Boise State who would just blast through their weaksauce competition and no one gave them respect.

I hate that Alabama is the team representing us, really, I wish it would be any other team but I wish them the best of luck. I hope they keep the NCG in the SEC and I hope the best players in the country continue to come and play where the best football is being played.

Gators aside.

It wasn't dumb when undefeated sec teams were getting left out of the BCSCG. Now? Yes it is. Bama winning a bcs title is actually a horrible thing for lsu and auburn( real powers).

SEC SEC SEC

My philosophy is that anything that happens up-to and including the SECCG is fair game.

But once the SECCG has been finalized I'm SEC SEC SEC against the rest of the frickin' world.

You've been in the SEC too long and maybe don't realize the lure of the conference. When asked why they chose A&M many (most?) new recruits say it was for the chance to play in the SEC. The long string of NCs has a lot to do with their perception of the conference.

Bruh. We have had 7 in a row. No other conf has had 3. We are and will be the best conf in cfb. Bama being able to tell recruits 4/5 national titles does nothing but bad things for every other sec program.

Horse shite. Bama can only sign 25 like the rest of us.

Besides, SCAR is taking Bama down in Atlanta this December so it's a mute point.

Yes, it is. You all are our rivals. I hate all of you. I hope you all of your programs lose every single game you play from now until the end of time. frick all of you

Any non-Bama(?) SEC fan that roots for Bama in yet another National Championship game needs to have their heads examined.

At this point nobody should be giving any fricks about keeping the BCS championship in the SEC. Everyone should be thinking of ways to end Saban's reign, to restore some much needed parity.

Saban is luring top recruits away from all the other SEC schools and winning multiple championships at other schools' cost.

So the next time you decide to root for Bama against Oregon or Notre Dame or FSU, think of it as Saban stealing more from you...right from under your noses.
South Carolina is having unprecedented success and is recruiting well. In fact, we've done better in-state than we ever have and it shows on the field. Keep on keeping on, Tide.

Because the SEC wins the NC. All other arguments are nonsense.

If I were an LSU or Auburn fan I admit I might have a somewhat different opinion. But I don't see why pulling for Bama in the NC is a bad thing even for an Auburn fan. Want Bama to take a step back? Beat Bama.

I always pull for the SEC OOC. I will admit that I don't shed many tears if they don't win, though.

No, I didn't, even though it's true that just about anyone could walk on for them . But I'm a student and a fan of them still, even though this season has been depressing here in Ames.

That was my point; I don't see a huge difference between being a fan of a conference or a team. People pick semi-arbitrarily who they want to root for then get emotionally invested in it either way.

Same goes for me being an LSU fan; born and raised there and graduated from LSU.

Don't take this personally, but are you retarded? Alabama winning national championships does not help Auburn in any way.

Let me ask you this....when you were in the Big 12 with UT, did you pull for them to win a NC?

Well, honestly, my hat's off to anybody who claims to be an Iowa State fan, regardless of circumstances. That has to be tough. I love your coach, though. He's an icon.

Doesn't the SEC get money for having teams in the NCG? And the entire SEC, not just Bama.

You've obviously been talking to my children. Stop it.

Actually, yes. Roommate and I have had many heated discussions about this in the past and still do, 30 years later. I was right, he was wrong. Though in that case it wasn't so much pulling for the conference as pulling for Texas teams.

I get it with you being an Auburn fan because of recruiting. For anybody else save possibly LSU and to a lesser extent Georgia, though, I don't get it at all. SEC dominance draws recruits to ALL SEC schools. That's not debatable in my opinion.
