I honestly think the tornado greatly affected him. Saban seems much more emotionally attached to Alabama since that happened.
You're dreaming.

I think the buy-in from the players, the fans, and the entire state has to be appealing. A lot of Louisiana doesn't care about football and if they do they might be a bigger Saints fan. In Alabama there is Bama football and a whipping dog (Auburn). That's it. We don't have a New Orleans and we don't have a pro team. Michigan (Mich State) is even worse. Saban is at the Mecca of CFB at a point in his life that he doesn't need to prove anything else. He also has a chance to beat the man on top of CFB history books (the Bear). And that's a pretty big deal. Would any of you leave? And if you did, where would you go?

In all seriousness, and this is not a flame by any means... no. And neither is he LSU at heart. Or Miami, or any other team/program.

With that said, Alabama is taking care of him, so he's staying.

He is like a renowned surgeon who loves himself and looks in the mirror and says:

"University of Saban Tuscaloosa"

No he is not a Bama man.

Not in the way Coach Bryant was, who went to school there, played there, and left another job to fix its dumpster fire and win games there for 20+ years.

I'm sure Saban thinks a lot of his players and the people of the university, but in the end, Alabama is his job.

Exactly. And that's all I expect from him. He's a professional doing his job, and doing it well. I don't need him to "love" UA.

No. He's a Bama man at his wallet.

Yeah he spends so much of that Bama money he's accumulated over the past 6 years. The dude didn't even take time to squeeze in a tiny little vacation after he won Monday night. Less than 30 minutes after he hoisted his 4th crystal ball in the air he was talking about getting back to work and being behind in recruiting. WTF is wrong with a multi-millionaire that can't enjoy his wealth?

So, how do you know he's not enjoying his wealth?
Have you ever had enough money that you didn't have to work? He's doing exactly what he wants to do. Which is to make a difference with the time he has on this earth and of course its fun to be king of the hill. Its not about piling up the millions. That's just a way to keep score for him. Its about doing something very few of us ever get to do. Become immortal like Coach Bryant.
