Saban isn't a money man, he also isn't a Bama man. He is a Goal oriented man.

I always viewed Saban as a hired hand mercenary type until recently. He has won 3 NC's at BAMA and could have left before now for more money or another program. He must feel connected to the University and the Tuscaloosa community to stay and continue his career.

It is nice to have a Coach who has won his first NC as your head Coach. Then again you could end up with someone like Gene Chizik..(not a bad dude but not a good head coach.)

Saban is clearly happy at Bama and is kicking arse.

Saban liked Baton Rouge and LSU better.

I dont see why yall care about this so much. I guess it is insecurity - if any other school won 3 of 4 they wouldnt give a rip.

But it is well known Saban loved Baton Rouge and would rather be at LSU. It just didnt work out this way.

and you would be surprised that some on this board have the info straight from the source.

lol, it is nothing short of pitiful that you actually believe that, and care enough to post it.

Saban is more of a Bama man than Cam was an Auburn man. Of course, that's not saying very much...

This.

I have no illusions. He keeps us at a distance. He is a mercenary coach--but these days, who isn't?

Early on the talk about "The University of Alabama" in a "them" not "us" tense.

I don't think he'll leave, but that's because he's in a good spot. But had the Texas, Ohio State, or Michigan jobs been an option, I'm pretty sure he'd be in the exact same place right about now. Making money, winning titles, etc.

He's not "Bama" in the same way that Bryant was.

It's interesting how direct sources and the information they glean seem to vary greatly depending on the team that people "spilling" the information support. At least on message boards. Off of message boards, information is more consistent, but I guess that depends upon the people you know as well.

Bama men got us nowhere (with the exception of the one Stallings year - and he is arguably more an A&M man) for 30 years. Who cares where his heart is - he is paid to win, period. All I want is a great leader of men - and who can win championships.

Sorta like people wanting DeShea Townsed to get an interview for the DB position. Why? Because he's a Bama man? He has minimal experience. Find me someone who has experience and who can win - that is who I want.

Now, would LSU come after Saban again if Miles was canned or left? More importantly, would he be interested? If not, he can at least try and get a massive payday from Bama by letting them court him. Just imagine the amount . . .

Yeah Saban loved LSU and Baton Rouge so much that he left it for Miami.
