What Mullen is about to do is send out his interest in a lot of positions, through his agent. That agent will take those receptive and let MissSt know.
When Ole Miss gets in the NCAA crosshairs, Mullen will use all this as leverage to get another raise. Miss St won't want to lose him and start with a new coach when they could immediately take over the state while Ole Miss is down to 12 scholarships.

With UGA's recruiting pipeline, he could probably do better than Richt at Georgia.
He's a good scientologist who is involved in charities, so that block of the fanbase would be satisfied.

If I were him, i'd jump the first job out of starkvegas... It won't get better any time soon.

We'll see. Based on what I've seen, he has Ferentz disease.
His team is currently 6-0 and has a chance to win the West Division of the Big 10. It seems like he has a good year, just often enough to keep his job.
I think Mullen is also a good coach, and has done a very good job at State.

Ole miss is not under investigation anymore. All they could find was one player with some rental car issues.
Keep telling yourself that.......

Mullen wanted no part of the Fla job as long as Foley was AD.

Might count most of the top Mississippi recruits over the last few years as some of those recruits coming in to replace them.

Not to mention we managed to land several top notch players from a state over in Alabama.

Since OM isn't being investigated anymore, we should get the NCAA's statement of findings any minute now. Until the NCAA releases that, OM is most likely still being investigated

No, time for Freeze to leave, if he can get past
"show cause".
"show cause".

You mean you managed to land the ones that Alabama and auburn didn't go after. But they did turn out to be legit players

Pretty sure auburn wanted bear Wilson. If you guys didn't, maybe you should re-evaluate

He missed his window. He was unbelievably hot a few years ago
A year ago at this time Da Dawgs were about to ascend to the #1 ranked team in the country, a spot they'd hold onto for a month a half, and you're saying he was a hotter commodity a few years back when he was losing Gator Bowls ?

you probably couldn't have picked Dak out of a lineup 2 years ago.

We still land top notch players from Alabama.

I believe a State guy loggerheaded 'theRicks' girl. Same deal as with Buga.
Maybe several.
Maybe several.

I don't believe Mullen was an "unbelievably hot" coaching commodity a few years ago.
Penn State passed on him a few years ago when they were searching all over for a coach. Other Big 10 schools have passed on him. I think Texas glanced his way, but decided they could do better.

Mullen and State are good mutual fits.
He's making $4 million in a small town where as long as he keeps winning 7-8 games consistently, he's regarded as royalty by the vast majority of the fanbase.
Before he came, we finished last in the West 8 of 9 seasons and had been to 12 bowls in over 100 years of football. We're headed to our sixth straight bowl game this year, have vastly improved the facilities, and have improved the gameday experience 100 fold.
Also, we have grown our athletic budget big time. Not just SEC Network - ticket sales break a record every year, merchandise sales are at all time highs, enrollment is a record.
And like I have said on here before. There's not near as much difference when we have a $60 million budget and the rest of the SEC has a $100 million budget as there is when we had a $20 million budget going against $60 million budgets.
Football was #1 in the nation for a few weeks last year. Think about that in a historical sense. Mississippi State was #1. What else has Mullen done? Improved the brand of Mississippi State.
Did you know?
Women's Golf was #1 for most of the season last year.
Women's Basketball is preseason #6.
Men's Basketball hired a coach who took UCLA to three Final Fours, and he promptly pulled in one of the top recruits in the nation.
Softball has been a NCAA mainstay and is building a brand new facility from scratch.
Baseball is building what will be the pinnacle of college baseball stadiums.
Track and Field built a new facility. We used to have to skip our rotation to host the SEC Track Championships - now we can do it in a world class facility.
Volleyball and Soccer - two sports that have been terrible, both have new coaches who have them above .500 in the SEC and beating Top 25 teams.
All of those things are directly tied to MSU being a better brand than it used to be. And that's why Mullen is a good fit at MSU.
