All you need to know about ND and LSU.
In 2006, LSU ran a reverse against ND and handed the ball to an Olympic sprinter. LSU had a second Olympic sprinter playing wide receiver in that game.
ND ran a reverse and handed the ball to a minor league pitcher. ND plays MMA/boxers in its secondary. LSU played this
The world hasn't changed that much since then

A 2006 game between LSU and ND is very relevant to a 2012 game between ND and Alabama.
But it has on ND's end, particularly in the front seven.

Everyone keeps saying that. I'll be happy to eat crow if Bama doesn't get 250-300 yards rushing on ND.
Everyone has an SEC front until they get to the title game, then the pretenders melt away. It is my hope that you guys make an entertaining game. I'm just not so sure everyone saying how SEC-like your defense is really will mean anything.
Remember about those OU, OSU, and Texas teams. The supposed army of NFL talents they had in the front seven. We saw how that went.

In your opinion maybe, but Bama was #1 again by the numbers. We were #1 in rushing defense and #5 in pass defense. Florida was #5 overall, #8 rush and #12 pass. UF numbers were good but not #1.
Defense Stats
And don't give me "our schedule was tougher crap". When you throw in the SECCG we had the 3rd toughest and Florida had the 6th toughest.
SOS rank
Yall played UGA, A&M, and LSU.
UF played UGA, A&M, LSU, FSU, and South Carolina.
I don't know why you linked that page, but every SOS rating including Sagarin has UF's SOS way higher than Alabama's.

It doesn't matter. Their offense is much...MUCH worse than LSU's, Georgia's, A&M's, Mississippi State's, Tennessee's, and Michigan's offenses.

UF, UGA, Bama and LSU are all better than ND

Not really true. The difference was in the number of times the two defenses were run at not necessarily the quality/depth of the D. LSU only held Bama RB's to 6 fewer inches per rush and only had to face them 22 times vs 45 times. What would they have looked like in the second half if they had been run at that many times?
49 yards.
McCarron didn't complete a pass in the second half until the last drive of the game.
And Alabama had 11 drives vs. LSU, and 13 drives vs. Georgia. So the number of offensive drives wasn't significantly different. The difference is that LSU was stopping Alabama from sustaining long drives... especially in the second half.
And one more point. IF Alabama would have run the ball more against LSU, they might have had less yards per carry on the ground. You don't know how changing the game plan to include more running plays would work. LSU might have keyed in on the run more and had an easier time stopping it.
We have never seen LSU get gashed against the run, while that was known as one of Georgia's weaknesses in the defense the whole season.

We played an inspired LSU team
The thing that bothers me most when comparing schedules is that every team seems to play their best game against us. JF definitely played better than he did against UF simply because the UF game was his very first college FB game. Maybe even Mett woke up and had one great game at home. But UGA should have played us both on an even playing field. There is no reason for them to play UF more poorly than us. And we let them get 394 yards against us while UF only allowed UGA 273. I might have to go with the gator dude on who has the best defense.

If Mizzou and AU (to name only two) were "inspired," you don't know anything about football. lulz

UF and BAMA are definitely better. LSU on most days is, but they've certainly been had this year, however. IMO if LSU was in the natty, the D would certainly hold ND to under 10, and maybe even shut them out. I feel the same way about BAMA.
