I some ways this dialogue explains what OM did to get in trouble. When OM and Freeze got that out of state class, everyone knew something was different...and it wasn't Hugh. Nebraska and Tennessee are the only schools that have recruited at that level with a weaker base of HS talent and not so much anymore. Mississippi has great talent per capita, but just not many people in the state.

What was it like to be born in 2008?

Alabama always has the history to fall back on. That's not a rebuilding job the way it was at Clemson after Tommy West, or USCe after Brad Scott. Kids still wanted to be a part of Bama even at their lowest.

Alabama didn't sell itself before Nick Saban showed up. Our recruiting pre-Saban wasn't nearly as good as pre-Smart UGA's.

Probation/loss of scholarships during the period isn't exactly a fair comparison.

But, yes, CNS is the best recruiter in the SEC. I'd say weak troll attempt by leaving him off, but it certainly got enough bites.

Georgia is like LSU.

I agree in terms of having access to sufficient in state talent for consistent top 5/top 10 talent. Much deeper pool of recruits that only have to be sold on staying home.

You have to wonder how good Kirby would do if he were at Tennessee or Alabama.

Not sure I understand this comparison.
