Is it time for the SEC to move to 9 conference games?

The BigTen just announced that they are moving to 9 conference games, a mandatory OOC game against another Power 5 conference team, and elimination of games against FCS teams.

With HD TV and the downward trend of attendance across the nation, I think this is a good move for the BigTen and the SEC should follow. Why are we paying upwards of $70 a seat to watch the local SEC powerhouse to pummel the likes of East Montanna State Community College?

I may be wrong but with the BigTen change, all Power 5 conferences have moved to 9 conference games except for the SEC.

whenever you suggest this a bunch of fans will crap their pants and short circuit their ittybitty brains because UGA can't have that free "party-bus" paid for win at home against Cumberland Gap CC or whatever..

"WE count on that game in Athens every year..." blah blah blah..

It's just amazing, ikr..

Has been since A&M and Mizzou joined. The B1G got this right. They should do away with permanent rivals as well. I enjoy the LSU-UF games on my birthday week/weekend each year, but hardly seeing LSU play the likes of Vandy, UGA,USCe etc. gets old. Those opponents should rotate each year IMO

Yes, it's beyond past time. Ole Miss is the worst offender of playing patsies to get to bowl eligibility. It's time we took the next step as a program and have more home-and-homes with Big Ten and Pac 12 schools.

I would like to play games in Athens and Knoxville more than once a decade. And since we are 2-0 in our last two trips to Gainesville, I enjoy games at the Vaught Hemingway of Florida as well.

Really? We're the school that you're going to point out in all of this? Our non conference schedule last year was Clemson, GT, and two crap schools.

Mizzou's was UCF, Indiana, and two crap schools.

But it is definitely time to go to 9 conference games.

So much fail in that post. I guess when you are losing to Indiana and getting shutout at home you lash out.

yes because your fanbase makes one of the biggest stinks about not getting that freebie win against West Ga St in Athens, don't blame me for your pals need for this childish fix, but they do have it.

I guess you fail to realize Indiana is not a FCS team we had to pay to show up in como... so you wanna argue the moon is made of cheese next?

I don't understand why they couldn't just keep those only and rotate everybody else. We don't go back to Athens until 2025 because of this shite

I'll answer that for you. It's charleston southern. That's 1. The same amount as your Mizzoi Tigers. Good point though.
