I don't even hate Spurrier.
He's like the goofy pseudo-uncle/grandpa who takes his balls out at parties. It just sucks when he takes his balls out at your party 4 of the last 5 years.

we cost him a shot at the MNC as a player; got him (and Pepper and the whole staff) fired from GA Tech & dominated the Gators until he arrived at UF as a coach

Well... MSU thinks CHF is pretty much a cheating, lying, manipulative bigot who believes himself to be greater than everyone else.
Also, he's the reason Chris Jones has had issues with motivation.
He also chose the preseason slogan "Take A Stand" because it says something close to that effect in the historic song, "Dixie". That makes him racist.

Worse than that- UF had never, ever won an SECC until SOS arrived as coach. That UGA game cost SOS/ UF the SEC and a shot at a MNC. Plus he got pummeled. He hates us.

Meh. Plenty of UGA fans hate him. Not that it's really a thing. A lot of fans from different schools in the SEC hate him for his days at Florida.
He's not RUTS on anyone (other than Arkansas) anymore, so you either appreciate his quips and not give a frick attitude or you think he's washed up.

Seriously though, the heat is really rising up in Tennessee between Jones and Mason. I think it's the next big rivalry of the SEC future. It started with Jone's schtick about building the brick wall brick by brick, and then Mason said the no brick wall can stand up against a Mason, then Butch said that Mason was the 2nd-best SEC FB HC named Derek in the past 5 or so years. and then Mason challenged Jones to a spelling bee contest outside (former Stanford coach), and then......

He was despised back in the 90s because he was known for running up the s ore big time. Mr Fun N Gun would throw the ball deep late in the 4th up 40 points.

He ran a flea flicker in Athens when they were renovating the gator bowl. He wanted to be the only team to drop 50 on UGA in Athens. It worked

I think TN hates Spurrier equally if not more than UGA.
HE went to high school up in North East TN at my high schools rival high school so many in that area hate him from his HS days. Especially after he went to UF and did so well (our fault) and then coached UF and pounded us most of the time, talked crap and now had SC doing better than us for a while till thankfully Butch arrived.
Anyway I hate that MFer.

Spurrier loathes Georgia. Georgia fans aren't fans of him, but I don't think we hate him as a general rule.
I hate him, but that's because I'm a Redskins fan. I don't hate him for doing his job at UF and USCe.

my goodness.
If anything, the real question should be about spurrier's hate for UGA. Ya know, since we beat the shite out of him while he played and knocked them out of title contention during his heisman year. He has carried that with him for over 40 years.
UGA fans hated spurrier when he was at florida, primarily because florida is a rival and because they were light years better than us every year. When he went to the pros most people moved on. Now that he's at SC he's a formidable coach, but it's not nearly as big a deal as it was in the 90s.
I'm quite certain that LSU fans towards saban is far far worse than us towards spurrier.

what many people don't remember too is that SOS was a candidate to be HC at UGA when Dooley retired. He interviewed for it. When Ray Goff was named HC, Spurrier heard about on the radio. Didn't get a courtesty call or anything about it telling him they had selected someone else.
There was a really good article about it in the Macon Telegraph years ago.
