I like Shaw, He was tough as hell and a good QB. However, I saw him get dismantled by LSU 2012, like, couldn't do ANYTHING. I think he was definitely good but not elite and not really underrated, he was talked about a decent amount.
Correct. Just a hyped up game manager who benefitted greatly from excellent RBs and defenses. Very little arm talent and was not asked to do much at all in the passing game.
He has always been an SEC Rant legend for whatever reason though.

Definitely eclipsed the two elite 11 qbs in Blake Mitchell and Garcia

#3 John Bond
John Bond was lethal in Emory Bellard’s wishbone offense from 1980-83. He guided the Bulldogs to a couple of the program’s best season and several of its biggest wins.
Bond still stands as the all-time leader in rushing yards for a QB (2,280). He is top 10 in passing yards, total offense, and touchdowns accounted for. He led MSU to a 9-3 record in 1980 and 8-4 in 1981, winning the Hall of Fame Classic in the latter.
Bond was the quarterback for such big wins as #18 Miami, #1 Alabama, #13 Miami and #6 LSU. In 1983, he became the first QB in college football history to beat a team (LSU) four straight years.
The epitome of underrated

Andre Woodson, breh.

You're gawd damn right, he is.

Wouldn't be surprised if he takes over for the Browns around week 8

Shaw was a stud for SCAR, I know I always dreaded seeing him take off on 3rd down and get 20 yards.
But I've got to agree with Bench, Andre Woodson is the most underrated QB in SEC history.
He passed for 9300 yards and 79 TDs as a 3 year starter for UK. He is 9th all time in the SEC in completions, 8th in attempts, 3rd in YPA and 7th in passing TDs.
He led UK to two bowl games, beat Clemson and Florida State, and held the record for most consecutive passes (325) without an interception until it was broken by Russell Wilson (379).

Connor Shaw was an absolute warrior. Lots of respect to that young man.

Dude was a pure D stud. Gave Auburn FITS. Another absolute warrior. No quit in that guy when he played.

He was only "underrated" by SEC West fans who pay no attention to the East.
We East fans all knew who he was and respected his abilities as a qb after he proved himself his first year.

He is/was awesome. In 2012 against Mizzou, he completed like 23 consecutive completions. Then in 2013, he came in the 4th quarter injured and led his team on a 21 point comeback.
Got a lot of respect for him as a player. Guy's got game.

I was tempted to say no and point to guys like Tee Martin or Chris Leak who had school legends as a predecessor or a successor respectively (Leak especially- 3.5 year starter, SEC and National Title winner, impressive title game, one of the SECs and Floridas all-time leader in passing yardage but he was Sandwhiched between Rex Grossman and Tim Tebow so he gets overlooked) but you can make the case that unlike those two guys Shaw is the GOAT QB for USCe.
It might be because he bounced between starting and not starting throughout his career?

No he didn't. He took the reigns from Garcia in 2011 and never looked back

I don't know enough SECN history but Shaw was a stud. Loved the way he played.

While Shaw seems like the answer, i'm gonna have to argue for Jared Lorenzen. Fat boy football.

He is still my all time favorite. There's no telling what he could have done on a good offense.

Is he their number 2? Holy god. Shaw was a solid college QB, and like I said, tough as nails, but he has no business being on the field in an NFL game.

That would be John Manziel
