My team won, honey.
And? Wisky was a solid matchup for UK. Doesn't have anything to do with Cal's developmental abilities.
But I don't expect a part-time cheesehead to be able to grasp that concept. Maybe you can whine some more like your coach.

Cal says a lot of things. Most of which are mostly true. I wouldn't get caught up in the deets. The team watches about 5 minutes of film. Any more than that and kids lose focus. The coaches on the other hand watch plenty of film.

Which your coach failed to prepare for.

It belies his hands off approach to the whole endeavor.

Ouch, I'm hurt.

You're the only one whining in this thread. I'm dropping truth.

Cal went 38-1 this season. I think his system works just fine.
I'm not saying his system doesn't work, in fact, I said he is easily the best recruiter in the game. The problem I pointed out is he isn't developing anyone who is staying. He gets a shite ton of talent, and the ones that stay don't see their game advance any.

That Cal doesn't develop players?

So the team goes from multiple losses last season to an almost undefeated run and NOBODY got better?

Seriously, how can you justify the fact that your team didn't watch a second of game film on the most efficient offense in the last decade?
wait, you believe this?

FYI the best counterargument would be to provide some examples of players he developed (i.e., players who improved over time at UK). It isn't like me to help the opposition make an argument but I'm starting to feel sorry for you.

To some extent I think you're conflating the progression of their game with their draft stock. Those are two really different things. The NBA doesn't give two shits that Andrew Harrison became an immensely better player this year (on both ends of the floor) because he isn't a top level athlete. The league drafts on talent and potential.

There's so much derp in this I'm not real sure where to begin.
You don't know where to begin because it's all correct. Not a single one of them have advanced since their freshmen years.

I feel sorry for you that you buy the BS that no one on the team has improved from last season.

Lol this is just morning entertainment for me. You're the one who is an actual fan of this abomination you call UK basketball.

That abomination just went 38-1

You added Towns, Booker, Ulis, Lyles. I think that might have made the "difference".
WCS has remained mostly unchanged since his freshman season, which no doubt he's been good throughout.
The twins are still mediocre players and have seen their stock plummet.
Lee and Haskins are practically irrelevant from last year to this year.

Is OP a poor starter of troll threads?

Just looking at the stat line comparison WCS scored almost 100 more points than last season while only playing two more games, had less player fouls, had 3 more steals than last season, had more defensive rebounds, and increased his FT percentage by almost 20%.
But yep, no improvement there. And that's just WCS.

Is Coach Cal a poor developer of talent?
quote:Last week they tried to weaken CJC's coaching ability by saying he wasn't a good X & O's coach - he was nothing more than a great recruiter with 6-7 McDonalds All American's. He just out talents the opponent and doesn't really need to coach 'em because they are the most talented/gifted players on the court.
Holy crap I hope that you are not serious.
Now folks are trying to further weaken his coaching by questioning his ability to develop the talented players.
WTF will people come up with next to diminish the accomplishments of one of the best coaches in college basketball?
