Big 6 has been the teams that have won multiple SEC championship on the field (sorry 1976 UK -retro) in the last 50 years. Ole Miss could easily make it a Big 7, but need to win at least one and probable 2 championships.

School Last SEC Title Number of SEC Titles Number of Divisional Titles
Alabama 2014 24 10
Tennessee 1998 13 6
Georgia 2005 12 7
LSU 2011 11 8
Florida 2008 8 (+1 vacated) 12
Auburn 2013 8 8
Ole Miss 1963 6 0
Kentucky 1976 2 0
Mississippi State 1941 1 1
Arkansas Never 0 4
Missouri Never 0 2
South Carolina Never 0 1
Texas A&M Never 0 0
Vanderbilt Never 0 0

Auburn is both a member of the Big 6 and Litte 8, depending on the season. They are some up and down SOBs

Tennessee has to beat Arkansas(L8) to stay off the bubble?

Ole Miss has to beat Fla(B6) to stay at that 7 spot?

Georgia has to cement their position in the B6 with a win against another B6 regime?

Arkansas has the most division titles of anyone not in the big 6.

this poor guy...he has directed unprovoked and unwarranted attacks upon what many consider to be the best team in the SEC this season, for no reason other than to somehow maintain relevance for UT in his own mind(last years 34-3 curbstomping be damned). unfortunately, perception is reality. and the perception of the whole country is that the vols are the weak arse red headed stepchild of the SEC. Auburn is only 3 years past their last winless conference season. Didn't think another one would happen so soon.

"I woke up to get me a cold pop...smelled like somebody was barbecuin'. I said, 'Lord Jesus, it's a fire!'

Then I saw it was just Auburn tryin' play defense.

Who says there has to be a replacement?

Big 6 just becomes Big 5 if someone gets kicked out

Original Big 6:

Alabama
Tulane
LSU
Tennessee
GA Tech
MS State

That term was created in 1941 to identify the 1st 6 schools to win a conference championship

UGA replace MS State in the mid 40's

Ole Miss replaced Tulane in the 50's

Auburn replace GA Tech by default when the Yellow Jackets exited the conference in the early 60's on the strength of their 1 championship that came with a natty in '57

Florida pushed Ole Miss out in the early 80's on the strength of a vacated SEC title AND for being consistently a strong/feared opponent (UK did not get consideration for their '76 ship based on being looked at as a weaker team)

List has not changed since then

Ole miss has the strongest shot at getting back in and RIGHT NOW, Tenn is the most likely to fall out

In the last half century none of the other teams have won the SEC. The Big 6 has always had huge advantages, but with revenue sharing and basically all games being televised the advantages are slim now. Some team will break through. There are none Big 6 members now with 100 million dollar athletic budgets, top notch facilities, and access to top notch recruits. It's only a matter of time. Tennessee no longer has any advantages except for history/tradition.

Is it more or less sad that a team with "Big 6" status hasn't won more than 7 games since 2007?
