Bama logic.

Everything I said is true. I can't help it if you can't figure out how setting passing records and not being a great QB are not mutually exclusive.

With Cornwell's regression (and apparent doghouse) I can see him transferring out soon if he doesn't get to play this year. Especially with BB on the horizon the next few years.

not too bad for a guy who came in asva greyshirt to bama and as an undrafted free agent to the nfl

My favorite is the guy high-stepping at the end.

That and single season records for pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards, and touchdown passes in 2007. In 2008 Alabama wisely went very run heavy with a really good run blocking line, very good running backs and a good defense.

Obviously he wasn't a great QB and was never going to be no matter how much "development" he got. I still maintain Saban got about the max out of JPW during his time here.
Well, technically, JPW had a better year in 2006 than 2007. Higher completion percentage, higher yards/attempt, higher rating, & lower attempt/td ratio. The only thing that actually improved from 2006 to 2007 was his attempts/int went down (less than one attempt difference).

He just threw more passes less efficiently in 2007 compared to 2006. So Mike Shula should be credited with his development. Because all those records he broke in 2007, were in fact, his own records he set in 2006.

Yeah, JPW was very much Shula's guy. Saban inherited him and did pretty well with him. Similar statistical years from 06 to 07 and did what was needed during Alabama's run in 2008 until hitting Florida and Tebow in the SECCG.

Right, which is pretty telling right now as things are playing out. Morris has always been a good leader and knows the offense like a coach. He won't ever be a super star, but we may not need him to be with this team.

Yeah. He walked in front of Saban's line of vision. Very likely that guy is no longer with the program.

Why are there so many posts arguing about Saban's development of QB's? That's not Saban's job

It doesn't really matter who starts, Bama wins 10 games with any qb on our roster.

What I find hilarious about all of this Alabama starting QB talk is that Bama will still win 10 games during the regular season..lol.

It's Kiffin's job but Saban's responsibility as head coach

I honestly do not think there is as much of a qb competition as everyone might think. Coker is the guy. No one knows who will back him up, but why would Coach Saban want to reveal who his qb is? He never has before, why would he now. I think he personally likes everyone counting alabama out because of "bad", "terrible" qb play... This is just my opinion, but I do have friends who are team managers and old players who iv talked with and it's going to be Coker.

That goes against everything everyone else is hearing right now. Even McElroy on Fb last night talked as if Coker was done. We will see.

The most revealing thing Saban said about last year's QB contest was that "Sims won the team." He also cryptically said this year that he was waiting for someone to "win the team."

I think that is the X factor here... who does the team want and trust?

Everyone is speculating. Who goes first in drills? Who goes with first team in scrimmages? Who sits with starters at media day? If it's not Coker, it would blow my mind. The real question is what the hell did Cornwell do? No one knows.
