Just last season USCjr was suppose to be the favorite in the East. That hype was over after 1 half.

Lol jk but yeah that was a miserable game. Me and bpt went and drowned our sorrows at a Waffle House outside our hotel after. Glad Brandon Harris got his revenge this year

eta: not sure which Dubose Bama team it was. '99 or '00
2000 - we started ranked #3, lost to UCLA out of the gates and it got worse from there.
1999 is the year we won the SEC behind Shaun Alexander. One point away from winning the Orange Bowl that year vs Michigan. Beat Florida in an incredible game 40-39 in their stadium in OT, then trounced them 34-7 or something like that in the SECCG rematch.

Alabama 1970.
This seems unlikely, as we had just come off of a 6-5 season in '69. Still, with Wilbur Jackson, it became our first fully integrated team. So, we don't get sad over that 6-5-1 1970 season.

Alabama 1984.
We fared a bit better in '83, but were still just 8-4.

Michigan 2007.
Eh. True, they lost to Appy State, but they also finished 9-4 and were #18 in the final AP poll. That included a win over Florida in the Cap One Bowl. Hardly a massive fall from grace.

2003 Auburn started 0-2 after being preseason top 10.
I think some polls had Auburn as preseason #1.
Though I will say that 2015 Auburn feels worse because both sides of the ball have been horrible. At least in 2003, Auburn had a chance to win the USC and Georgia Tech games going into the fourth quarter thanks to the defense. Outside of LSU and Georgia, Auburn was in position to win 10 games.

LSU was #6 in 1998 and went 4-7.
Tennessee was top 5 in 2005 and went 5-7
Alabama was top 5 in 2000 and went 3-8

1999 Bama went 10-2 regular, won the SEC, beat Florida twice. (Loss to La. Tech), loss bowl to Michigan and Tom Brady 35-34 (Great Game)
Alabama began their 2000 season No. 3 in the AP poll. The Tide slumped to a 3–8 record
Mike Dubose fired ONE year after winning the SEC championship.

Note: Alabama was competitive in all games, Dubose sleeping with his secretary was part of it...

Now that LSU has beaten us, I've got their back.
Give em hell and go bring us back that Citrus Bowl trophy!
