Lester's the massively overrated one. Barron's very good

Barron gets burned on any resemblance of a pump fake or double move.

How Alabama is ranked so high is just stupid.
McElroy-gone
Ingram-gone
Julio-gone
Not to mention a few on defense.(go ahead rely on your defense, lol)
They were hyped up last year and got manhandled with all their "stars". This year will be no different. Just flatter the rednecks with a high ranking, it's always more fun watching them fall.

Manhandled? Only one team "manhandled" us last year, and it wasn't LSU

With LSU's recent transgressions, I would say Alabama would have to be favored. Who knows how the ball will bounce though.

Before this, IMO, LSU was the favorite. Now, it's Alabama. Subject to change of course.. if LSU gets Shepard back soon and gets our OL healthy, I think we're back on top.

We have always relyed on defense. Return 10 of 11. We were hyped last year but really young on defense, and lost starters on our o-line It happens every year with college football teams, We return a great O-line, and have a great stack of talent on offense to compensate.

I don't see how, in any way, LSU was favored over Alabama. Alabama has been, and will be, the favorite to win the SEC

Yet (until recently) most people thought that LSU was fielding the better team. The only reason Alabama was receiving NC hype is because of an easy schedule. On paper.. LSU matches up extremely well with anyone in the country. Losing the worst returning QB of the decade won't change that.

Must not watch tv/read articles much. Consensus was (and is) that the SEC will be decided by the winner of the Alabama vs LSU game.

Bama is definitely the favorite now. If it wasn't for a brutal schedule, LSU would still be the favorite.

It was as a pretty common conception that the SEC west would come down to the LSU/Bama game, with the Flagship being a darkhorse, followed my Miss State.

I mean, I agree that LSU and Bama are the top 2 and I've seen that game hyped this offseason, but most people have had Bama as the favorite the whole time. That's all I'm saying. I hope LSU wins, I'd rather that than Bama

Let's look at our manhandled, overhyped D which returns pretty much everybody except Dareus. 2011 stats, with LSU included for shits and giggles:

Rushing defense - Bama #10 nationally, LSU #42
Passing defense - Bama #13, LSU #10 (all of our D-backs are back, no PP7 for LSU)
Total defense - Bama #5, LSU #12
Scoring defense - Bama #3, LSU #11
Passing efficiency defense - Bama #6, LSU #23
Third down efficiency defense - Bama #12, LSU #16
Red zone defense - Bama #4, LSU #53

Your turn Laffy...
