Simply because they have LSU an Arky at home or due most believe they are heads and shoulders better than the above 2. Not flaming just wanting to get a consensus opinion on the matter.

They do get Arkansas and LSU at home, but they have to play at Auburn. I think that that will be harder than people realize. Also State could be a challenge to Bama.

With LSU's recent transgressions, I would say Alabama would have to be favored. Who knows how the ball will bounce though.

Its a combination of both. Most people seem to agree that LSU and AL are the most talented teams in the SEC going into this season. They also see Alabama has a very favorable schedule compared to the last three years and that just pushes it over to Bama IMO.

state has the best schedule. they do have to go to little rock which is a tough place to play. that state game at starksville on thurs nite worries me.

I think it's just the same old "who looks better on paper because we haven't seen shite on the field so far" like every year. People assume Saban will have his shite together. They could be right on with a 14-0 record, or we could get smashed by Joe Pa. We will know more come Saturday, kinda.

Being pre-season #1, I imagine it was us Gumps.

I was kind of surprised just how sure Vegas odds were Bama was going to win the West, even prior to the LSU bar fight.

Yes and have a core of the defensive starters back with the best DB in college football. I think they are the favorites. Granted they have to play the games. 11/5 will be an outright war.
