I think the biggest challenge will can Etling get time, and can he hit semi covered receiver. Right now he is just finding the open man. Can he throw someone open under pressure. We have to have an open offense or we will get what we got last year. I think Ole Miss would have stopped our run if there had zero worry about us spreading it out and passing like they had the luxury in the past.

Do you guys have faith in Etlin?

Yes, Etling is not John Elway, but he can manage the game. He has been putting his team in positions to win and has minimized mistakes. The key to the game is not Etling, it is how much our Oline heals up in the next two weeks. Bama's edge rushers could have a really good time in two weeks if we cannot get some guys healthy.

I disagree with LF7, I have seen a bunch of gumps posting about 31 yards. They will not be playing that team this year. I will say this, Les Miles is no longer calling the plays. Unless you watch LSU football, it will be hard for an outsider to see much difference. There is a massive difference. LF7 broke those runs this weekend because Ole Piss is weak, but they had been passing the first two series enough to get the extra guy out of the box. LF7 with a complementary passing game and some level of creativity on offense can without a doubt beat Bama and any other college football team. He is the best player in college football and there is no close second. Bama will not be able to just throw a bunch of guys up there to stop #7. The LSU offense looks a lot more like the offenses from 2007 and 2008 than from 2011-2016 pre Coach O. Should be a good game, crowd will be pumped, the d for LSU has just owned the best offense in the SEC. I cannot wait to see how this team does against Bama, as they say, to be the best you gotta beat the best.

Geaux Tigers.

But it's the line of scrimmage that favors Alabama. The game IMO hinges on lsu's offensive line that was owned last year

Listen, there is no doubt that bama is very talented on both sides of the ball.

LSU, we are making progress every week.

I watched the bama-atm game this weekend, and I noticed one area of weakness. Hurts. He is not very accurate at all. I think he only had 1 pass beyond 10 yards that was catchable. If he is having that kind of day at LSU, we need to take full advantage of that.

Lime of scrimmage will be the key factor here

I agree with your post. LSU should be able to make plays against BAMA secondary now with a QB who makes correct reads. I also think LSU defense is good enough to hold BAMA within striking distance unless Hurts starts throwing the ball down field better.

In saying that BAMA defense is still great and if LSU can't protect the QB and get some kind of run game going it could be a long night.

If I had to bet, I still think BAMA wins the game but will be challenged more than by any other team all year.

I don't think our line can protect Etling.

Etling doesn't impress me. If Ole Miss was able to get to him and cause some turnovers just wait until he faces his first NFL D-line.

It's a good matchup. LF7 will have some redemption compared to last year because your offense is bucking tendencies and going to pass more, the problem is that's going to play into Bama's strength with a much improved pass rush.

Everyone acts like Les Miles was this moron that kept a talented team from winning on purpose. Be careful what you wish for you might see Etling throw 2 ints, and have a strip sack for a TD. Now that you've abandoned the ultra conservative game plan we will too. Bama loses to good mobile QBs who have big days, and Etling doesn't check any of those boxes.

You'll slow our offense down but it won't matter your offense is going to play to our new strengths.

Alabama front 7 vs LSU OL & vice versa just like most years is the key to the game. Shutting down the running game and putting pressure on the QB for both teams will be the deciding factors.
