LSU can exploit a few things in Bama's defense. Your receivers are talented, fast and big. EJ injury is very big loss in our Secondary. So I think LSU has a fair shot of getting a few winnable deep throws in. No doubt LF7 is the best RB in the nation, but he won't win the game himself. LF7 hit alot of Big runs against Ole Miss which took pressure off your QB, still Ole Miss did get into your guys back field on several occasions and caused TOs . Do you guys have faith in Etlin? to win you guys the game if the running game is not there?

As some have posted Hurts is the X factor but I don't think his legs will win the game straight up... but will he be able to take advantage of passing opportunities. I seen several plays where Ole Miss receivers were wide open. Should be a nice chess match between the coordinators on in game adjustments.

I thought you were going to give a 1,000 word breakdown on the matchups on both sides of the ball. Shitty

They'll need to keep Etling clean. WRs have to come up big to convert on short throws to keep the offense on schedule. If Alabama starts getting a lot of pressure, it won't be pretty.

There will be opportunities to run the ball I think. It'll be similar to a 2012 type game.

I don't have the answers to your questions, but this was a well thought out post. Bravo.

I do. I keep seeing it posted that LSU is one dimensional. Well our QB has passed for 250+ the past two weeks. He's spreading the ball all over the field. FB, RB, 4 seperate WR's, TE's ect.

I do think he can exploit that Bama defense, but I worry can our OL hold up? Once again we have starters out or nicked up.

Also, I haven't seen great numbers from Hurts passing either. One might argue it's in fact Alabama that is very one dimensional this year.

I think this game is going to be just like the last two in BR. Won in the final 2 minutes after a none stop slugfest.

Honestly how does the Tide feel about this game compared to the last few?

LSU DBs were caught confused on the first drive, but otherwise the pass defense was awesome against Ole Miss. LSU shut out Ole Miss in the second half. We'll see how Hurts handles it if Bama can't get the run game going (due in part to Lane).

LSU is still a team that has to be able to run it somewhat effectively to keep the defense "honest." LF doesn't have to have 150+ to accomplish this. If he even approaches 100 yds I think it will open up the play-action just enough to keep your pass-rushers off Etling's back.

I think the key to containing Hurts is to make him beat you passing in the vertical passing game (medium to long). He is most effective running and creating at this time. I would like to see LSU play man-press and jump on those WR screens and speed reverses. With at least one of our LB's spying him at all times.

Can't speak for the other fans, but I do like our chances...I think it's close at half but it's not one particular thing LSU does that scares me from a fan's perspective. I think LSU will be the best team up to this point Bama has faced.

If there's one thing Alabama should be concerned with is that Etling can create stuff. He can move around and check down the ball really well. He will negate some pressures in the pocket. As long as our guards can keep Allen from getting inside pressure, I think they can handle Anderson and Williams to an extent. Fournette will be targeted a ton in the passing game.

If LSU can shut down Ole miss in man to man on the outside with the best QB in the sec, it won't have an issue with Bama in obvious passing downs. The key then is getting Bama behind the chains for LSU. You can easily make an argument LSU is better as a unit at RB, WR, and DB, the skill positions.

But it's the line of scrimmage that favors Alabama. The game IMO hinges on lsu's offensive line that was owned last year

If I were LSU, I would put 9 in the box, run an underneath zone when possible, and force Hurts to beat me deep.

Not sure if the stat was for the season or just the A&M game, but saw a stat where Hurts YPA on his completions is 4.2. His YPA on his incompletions is 13.2.

Kid might develop, but as of right now he isn't worth shite throwing the deep ball. He gets lucky and gets the timing right every now and then, but as the saying goes, 'Even the sun shines on a dog's arse some days.

Aranda won't sell out to stop the run. Our DL has to step up.

Not the same line. And if things are true about what we learned about Miles (OL not really watching film and being worked to death) they should play a lot better.

keep adams spying Hurts and 9 in the box? Could work. But that Bama front 7 may be the only unit that scores from either team.

How do Bama fans feel about the running backs as opposed to the last few years?

We will approach this game the same way Bama has approached us the last 3 years. Stack the box and make Hurts beat us with his arm. Which he won't. Saturday night in Death Valley can't fricking wait

(Not a bama fan but...) Damien Harris is very good, not that impressed by the other two. Wouldn't be surprised if Bo doesn't see another carry outside of garbage time this year.

The thing that I think is most intriguing for once is that we will have a coach with a game plan. Last year I don't think miles had one. It was incredibly ultra conservative
