The truth is that the average American can't truly afford to pay 75 dollars for something they can see for free. The average American has to work 4 hours or more (after taxes) to earn that much. The average American has little or no savings and a great deal of debt. Maybe the average person can spend 75 dollars to attend a game, but that's because the average person is irresponsible.

Out of state people may not realize this, but this weekend is a 4-day "service week" (no school from Thursday the 8th to Tuesday 13) for area schools and this is the last chance to hit the beach, and people booked their rooms in Destin etc weeks/months ago on this open week. This was suppossed to be that "last Summer weekend" and people made plans for this week.

I sent my family to ACL in Austin and I made plans to visit my clients and get my company business squared away. So as a life long season ticket holder, I have to pass. Sure I'd like to drink bourbon with my 80's college buddies and watch the game, but sometimes Prosperity requires sacrifice. So the tv it shall be...

Who can't afford $75? That's literally one decent dinner date for two. I'm a broke arse med student living on loans with a wife and kid and a couple $75 tix doesn't even make me bat an eye.

Ppl who alreasy made plans to travel to USCe and paid for airfare, hotels, etc and now either are out that money or waiting on refunds. Ppl that have already made plans and the cost of breaking them is too high (i.e. 6 months of no sex and sleeping on the couch because you go to a football game instead of her dumb idead).

Corporations have jacked up the ticket prices, but the short notice is the main factor IMO. 40,000+ tickets sales on 3 day notice is pretty damn impresive.
