Bama would sell out in 3 days notice.

So a city with less than 100000 people would all stop what their doing and go to the game.
Get real. I know bama fans put the fan in fanatic but it would still be a challenge. People don't just drop what their doing to go to a spur of the moment football game thats going to be understaffed with little consessions, more expensive, and going to be on television anyway; which is the way they were planing on watching it anyway.

I'm sure there will be over 50000 at the game which is probably more than what they would have had in South Carolina.

Does your wife work? You seem like you're financing your football tickets.

I don't know what makes me feel worse for your kid:

1) He's growing up in a poor household in which one of his parents spends way more than he should on shitty football

2) He's being raised as and by an Aggy, which guarantees years of bullying and then even more as a weird little fricker.

There are a LOT of tickets priced at $40.

If that's true, then you really need to get the word out about these cheaper tickets. All I've heard is that USC is requesting that LSU charge $75 per ticket.

Not reasonable to expect a full stadium on a couple of days notice.

Just good they can get the game in.

Bottom of the class eh? Sorry you couldn't get that urology job which, judging by your post history, I'm sure you would have loved.

Who can't afford $75? That's literally one decent dinner date for two. I'm a broke arse med student living on loans with a wife and kid and a couple $75 tix doesn't even make me bat an eye.

Probably people who aren't broke because they don't consider 75 a ticket cheap..especially if they'd need 4 tickets for the family..

...this is a telling example of how the corporations have artificially inflated ticket price face values to a point that the average fan can't support on their own.

In this case, fans are compelled to buy tickets at $75 face value. This price IMO should be somewhere in the $40-50s range.

While 75 per game x 4 = 300 for a family of 4 for a single game is not cheap the parking, concessions, and crap for the kids can pop that to 500 a game for a family of 4 which is a big sum if you multiply it by 6 to 8 games. The much bigger issue is the donation required to purchase said tickets that may dwarf the cost of the actual tickets,

1) parking is free
2) each fan can bring in plastic bottle of water (or vodka filled water bottle if that's your thing)
3) There's a free tailgate sponsored by LSU for fans of BOTH teams

Seems like you have to TRY to come out of your pocket for anything in addition to the ticket price itself. It's a helluva deal. If money was tight, i would just buy the ticket and turn into Dave Chappelle from Half-Baked and freeload the rest of the way.

People are really blowing the ancillary costs out of proportion

I think local folks are being lazy and plan to buy day of...wouldn't be shocked to see 50-60k in attendance by game time

I don't really think it's a cost thing, maybe for some, not most. More of a late notice thing on an extended weekend where so many have plans out of town. Lots of weddings and children's events planned, takes put more than most think. Lots of class reunions as well. We'd be down if I hadn't planned a soccer fundraiser last night and had my son's soccer game this AM. Hard to if not impossible to switch plans on 3 days notice.

They're practically paying you to attend by allowing one free water bottle.

We just learned a lot about you.

Sure did. His "broke arse" would spend 225 dollars (there are 3 of them) for a football game

I bet he has an Obama phone, too.
