True.

A&M will have more talent than AR on its roster due to being able to recruit higher profile athletes out of TX.

The OP doesn't say WIN the SECW, just "compete". I believe they can "compete" for the West in 2-3 years, yes. However, will they have the defense to "win" the SECW, who knows.

AR has competed in the SECW over the past few years, and there's no reason to think A&M cannot do the same, none. Sumlin is known for solid O's as well, just like Petrino had. Can he build the solid D that Petrino couldn't? That's TBD.

I do think A&M has the capability to "compete" for the West though in 2-3 years, yes.

Football, men's basketball, and baseball =/= our "athletic program as a whole". Last year, the majority of our sports finished in the top 10, we won 3 national titles, and went to the CWS in baseball.

Basketball finally had one down year when everything that could possibly go wrong did, and yet recruiting has been excellent and we stand a very good chance of making it back to the NCAA tourney unlike Arky who will continue to suck arse at it.

The Director's Cup ranks success of an athletic dept as a whole. A&M is a top 10 program, while Arky will be lucky if they are in the top 25.

Football is what everyone cares about. Basketball is what let's time fly by, and baseball gets us through the off season.

You don't see me in this thread boasting about 42 track national titles and 98 conference track titles, now do you.....

Football you're mediocre. Basketball is sliding, as I said 20 posts ago. It will tak Aggy a while to compete. Maybe SCarolina long to compete.

False - I am however getting excited about watching them get raped by all the SEC Teams this year!

Arkansas was mediocre before Petrino came along as well, player. All it takes is a spark to the program, like Petrino was able to give AR. No reason that A&M cannot turn it around like AR did.

Arkansas played for an SEC football title in year 3. Won a basketball national title in year 2, and played for another in year 3.

Excuse me for not thinking Aggy will have close to that succes in their change to our conference.

Damn straight. Even when we won back to back titles in basketball a few years ago, I was just "meh."

I see, you started talking "your entire athletic program sucks" flaming, but upon realizing how idiotic and backwards that is you have now switched back to football/basketball/baseball flaming. The only sport you have a chance of beating us at next year is football, but with the game at Kyle and no Petrino we will probably sweep you in all 3....along with every other sport we play that we are far better than you in. Congratulations, you are our new Texas Tech.

Do you relaize how stupid your post is?

Arkansas owns Aggy in major sports. Probably along the line of 200 wins vs only 80 wins for Aggy.

No, I'm not counting womens basketball where Aggy has won 3 games all time against Ms. Piggies. And no, I'm not bragging about 42 track titles, nor am I bragging about our womens gymnastics. That's just Gay.

Remember, basketball is not important. You also fail to mention Bama's probation allowed Hogs to play in Atlanta your third year.Of course,Georgia crushed the Hogs in SECCG.

Arky played in the SEC title game in 95 (their fourth year in conference), not 94. We beat them 35-3, my dad was able to get last minute tickets once the fan fest was over.

Haweye attempting to trivialize an occurrence due to remoteness in time:

Hawgeye attempting to substantiate an occurrence's relevance despite its remoteness in time:

Buddy, that's not how logic works.

Your lame attempt to not be compared to Arky when we joined the SEC?

I think so in 3 years. I've seen Sumlin in a couple of interviews and I think he gets it. He had a good recruiting class (top 20), can run an offense, understands importance of a strong D. I think they will be competitive for the west. The biggest obstacle of course is LSU/AU/UA/Hogs in same division....tremendously difficult.

Yes. The SEC wasn't the same then, as it's now though. I'll admit that, even if UF had as much success as we did.
