OK, but even if we had somehow been able to play ourselves and lost (which would also mean we won, wouldn't it?), that still would have been four, which is more than the three you claim as the maximum any SEC team could win.
But it's not possible, is it. Arkansas is the only team that could play that schedule, and I stand by my previous assessment of three wins, max. Two if they play Toledo. In case it's still not clear, I'm including OOC in those wins.

There are 3 teams in the sec west that would win the pac 12 and probably 1 that would win the big 10.

Nope, it's like 2015 all over again.

they play TWO games all year against teams that have any hope of beating them
Ohio state lost to Va.Tech at home last season. A&M plays 4 tough games maybe. That's a whole 1 game more than the buckeyes.
If you look at the schedule and see 5+ "big" games, you probably aren't cheering for a playoff team anyway.

Here's the way I like to compare conferences...Take the top 10 teams in order and match them against the top 10 teams in another conference. Here is a hypothetical:
Ole Miss v Ohio State
Georgia v Mich State
LSU v Wisconsin
A&M v Northwestern
bama v Iowa
Florida v Michigan
State v Penn State?
UK v Minnesota?
Auburn v Nebraska?
What would the record be if those ten games were played on neutral sites? I say 8-2 favoring the SEC.
Ole Miss v Ohio State
Georgia v Mich State
LSU v Wisconsin
A&M v Northwestern
bama v Iowa
Florida v Michigan
State v Penn State?

Auburn v Nebraska?

Did you leave one off, or just pull 8-2 out of your arse.
With those I'd say 5-4 or 4-5 with Auburn Nebraska being a coin flip.

Ole Miss v Ohio State - OSU would destroy Ole Miss
Georgia v Mich State - UGA
LSU v Wisconsin - LSU
A&M v Northwestern -A&M...hate typing it but true
bama v Iowa - LOL
Florida v Michigan - toss up
State v Penn State? -State
UK v Minnesota? - Kentucky
Auburn v Nebraska? - Nebraska???

TBH, the SEC needs to pipe down a bit for the moment.
Of the Power 5 conferences, the SEC collectively has played against other power 5 conferences the least. Only 7 games so far in '15. Contrast to the B1G having played 19.
Plus , as a conference we're losing, or nearly losing , to mediocre to pathetic teams. The biggest stand out win, aTm over ASU, is tainted since ASU lost another game badly. The next biggest win? Maybe Bama s over Wisconsin, but that doesn't make headlines.
Sure, I think the SEC is the strongest conference, but I really don't have anything to support my beliefs.

quote:You're damn right they would. They're good. But damn, they wouldn't make the NC near as often as they do(which isn't THAT often).
Ohio State would destroy some SEC teams dude. Just because they don't face many worthy opponents doesn't mean their coaching staff and team aren't excellent.
If a team in the Big 12 or ACC has 3 NC caliber teams in a decade and makes it all 3 times, you HAVE to think at least 1, maybe 2 or 3 of them would slip up and lose if they played Alabama, Auburn, LSU, aTm, and the Mississippi schools(plus a team or 2 from the east). 2013 FSU was awesome. But it would have been extremely hard for them to go through the SEC without a loss that year. It's not that other conferences don't have NC caliber teams, they do. But many of those teams would lose in the SEC, just like NC caliber teams in the SEC who slip up and don't make it almost every year.

It's like they took a knife and cut the stadium in half. Bama on one side and LSU on the other. Pretty much dead even. We had alot more presence in the city though.

quote:Same with 2013 FSU. That team was fricking awesome. They'd probably be the favorite to win the west if they were in it. But Jesus, that's all they would have been. They would have had to get through the schedule just like all the past west winners and runner-ups. They might have had a what...30? 40? 50% chance to run the table in the west? They had damn near a 100% chance to win the ACC that year. That's a damn joke.
Pre Meyer OSU wasn't the same, though. I'll agree this OSU team in the SEC would be a top contender for a playoff.

No, they replaced themselves with Oregon and WVU.

The sec is the better conference but the gap between them isn't as big as most SEC fans think.

Meh Pac 12 isn't all that great.
Alabama
LSU
UGA
Ole Miss
A&M
All definitely win it this year
MSU
UF
UK
Would all be competitive with a chance to win it.

LSU went undefeated in 2011 with a much tougher schedule than that.
Actually 2011 sec was down
outside of arky bama and lsu.
Hell in 2011 by the end of the regular season Bama had 2 wins over top 25 teams.
Lsu's 2011 schedule was hard because of our ooc schedule of Oregon and West va.
