This is the main thing I remember from Bo's Heisman year:

Great story! Archie has always been one of my favorites.

Sinkwich made it in top 10 but Cannon didn't?

Billy Cannon was a beast and would have been in the modern game as well. Remember that back in the day, they only ran about half the plays that modern teams run in the up-tempo era. Cannon was roughly 6'1', 215 lbs and ran the 100 yard dash in 9.8 seconds. He was an absolute freak for his day, making all pro at two different positions in the pros, running back and Tight End once he aged and got heavier.

Yeah honestly if you look head to head what Bo and Walker did the year they won it BO did it on less carries and had more yards.

1. Jackson
2. Walker (he should be #2 for sure)

This is almost as bad as ranking the Medal of Honor recipients, not quite as tacky, but close.

Maybe Jordan Cox can blog about Honey Boo Boo episodes next....

I would personally move George Rogers and Billy Cannon up.

Hershel Walker's Heisman Stats:
335 carries/1,752 yards/5.2 YPC/16 TDs

Bo Jackson's Heisman Stats:
278 carries/1,786 yards/6.4 YPC/17 TDs

Mark Ingram's Heisman Stats:
271 carries/1,658 yards/6.12 YPC/17 TDs

Yet there are those who still say he's one of the worst Heisman winners ever.

Cannon only had 598 yards rushing with 5 TDs his winning year. Its not surprising he is ranked so low when compared to modern players.

I still have no clue how Cannon isnt on that list.

Not that I was around or anyone would really know this, BUT...

Billy Cannon averaged 23.8 on kickoffs, 14.7 on punt returns, 40.3 on PUNTS and had 4 INTS. on D that averaged 47.6 per interception return. And although he had the famous TD return against Ole Miss, he was also in on the 4th and goal tackle at the 1 against them to win it as a linebacker (though he normally played safety).

Also, in 58, while leading LSU to an undefeated NC season, he threw the only TD in the Sugar Bowl in LSU's 7-0 win over Clemson and kicked the extra point.

Rushing the ball was just one of the things he did well. Pretty amazing...

Tebow should be higher than Manziel. Timmy won 2 national titles.

gee, I wonder what Johnny would have done with the defenses Tebow had backing him up.

you gonna shite on Bo Jackson too since Auburn was 8-4 (3-3) w/two blowout losses (one to A&M in the Cotton) the year he won it?

No offense to him, but how does George Rodgers make a top 10 list of SEC Heisman winners?

You have to put Manziel above Newton and Tebow.

Da fresh hell.
I can understand maybe Tebow, but not Newton.
While JFF had no defense, he had the best offensive line by a mile, and one hell of a WR to throw too.
He had much more to work with than Newton did.
