I have heard no reason to believe that the AFCA liked Calhoun's suggestion, even assuming he really did bring it up.
You have no reason to believe they didn't like his suggestion since he did bring it up.
All you have is the word of a man who wasn't leaving Oxford outside of a pinebox before he went to Auburn, a man who was 100% committed to TTU before getting a call he got the Cinci job during the middle of a recruiting dinner and promptly walked out without informing anyone what was going on. But, that would just be rumors.

Here come the arkys to spin this one too.

You think he'd be removed from office in a day because he was deceptive in a rule's committee? You're not smart. I don't even know that the AFCA has a procedure to remove someone before their time is up.
As for the rule itself, it is most certainly NOT going to be accepted by the oversight panel on March 6th. The overwhelming opinion is that Calhoun/Saban/Beilema were pathetic in the way they twisted the process to try and gain a competitive advantage for their own offensive styles. Oversight panel has no choice but to refuse to accept the recommendation. Journalists, coaches, fans...everyone realizes that this was an attempt to end-run the legitimate rules discussion process.

So the spin is coming from the people in this thread giving facts and not the guy who "heard" something? Okay

Yeah, we are the ones making shite up by providing facts instead of rumors and conjecture.

You really don't think the committee members could put in a vote of no confidence to have him removed?

I heard from a reliable source that Kevin Sumlin and Johnny Manziel had a threesome with a goat.

Let's say Beilema didn't lie. Let's say he never claimed that the AFCA supported the rule change, or let's say that the the AFCA did support the change (despite the fact that NO ONE has come forward and claimed that this happened, nor have any official AFCA minutes or votes been released. Despite that, just pretend that Bert never lied.
Still, you have three D1 guys - Calhoun, Saban, and Bert - who offenses were all in the 100s in plays per game pressuring a bunch of DII and DIII guys to vote a certain way, and they were doing this with nobody from the other side invited to give their own view. It was all "cover of night" shite.
It's all bullshite. And it has nothing to do with player safety, which is all this committee was supposed to address. It's bush league, backroom politicing, small dick bullshite.

My god man THE AFCA COMMITTEE VOTED ON IT AND IT PASSED. You do realize that don't you? And you know what's better? Neither Bielema, not Saban are on the committee and neither voted. This isn't some crazy under the table bullshite with black helicopters. It was voted on and that's why it's at the NCAA now

Only after it came out in the media and a shite storm followed did the voters not know anything about it.
Bert and Saban are the only two with a fricking backbone, the rest are a bunch of pussies.

Which is a normal thing in College Station.

What coach has said this? What makes you think an AFCA committee passed it? Who was on said committee? When did they vote on it? Link?

The AFCA is the one that sends the proposals to the NCAA are they not? How else would it have gotten there?

Are you seriously asking for a link?
How about a link to where he lied independent of the OP or texags?

I'm hearing rumors that Bielema told the committee that AFCA supported the rules change, when, in fact, the AFCA had made no such decision.
Well all my friends who were in the meeting are telling me the opposite.

I don't know why this is so funny.
