lol alumni base means everything in sports. what is the smallest college to last win the national title in fball?

but I was talking about more back in the day when Clemson was like 3000 students, and a military college. that was bulk of Clemson's losses to SEC programs.

Clemson won a natty in football. most programs can't say that. :)

You hear that every year because it's true.

Notre Dame is barely over half the size of Clemson and has done just fine historically. Bama has been significantly smaller than Kentucky Georgia and Florida for all of its history and has the most SEC titles. Arizona State and Central Florida are two of the absolute largest schools in the country and have no history. Texas A&M has around 20,000 more students than Michigan but is nowhere near them historically.

Student body size means extremely little.

bullshite, your team still has a terrible record against the SEC and UGA in particular since 1966.

Anymore thoughts on your student body straw man? Have I thoroughly exploded that bullshite or would you like more examples?

ND hasn't done much in past 20 years, gone thru coaches like crazy. got crushed in the tittle game 3 years ago after sneaking in by playing a weak schedule.

ND is only program with its own national tv contract and has a religious following, not a good example to prove your point.

Central Florida isn't one of the top 2 publics in the state as far as repeutiation goes. I think it is basically a commuter school, and only recently has tried to get a program going. that's not a good example.

I never said being big means you win. I said being a smaller school makes it harder. Obviously Clemson did it back in 1981 when it was smaller than today. Baylor or TCU could pull it off soon.

Clemson held its own against UGA in 80's, and haven't played much since then. 1-3 since then if i'm not mistaken, 2 of those games were decided by FGs I believe . Boyd would have beat UGA all 3 years because UGA defense was terrible.

Clemson is the team that prevented uga from getting to ttile game in 81, Clemson went in their spot and won a natty

having a lake seems to be a huge upgrade. lol but also nestled in the foothills of the mountains, 45 minutes from America's favorite downtown, Greenville SC.

auburn is in a flat area next to an interstate with big box stores nearby, and a lot of roads intersect the campus.

really no comparison b/t the two

my opinion, Alabama should have put one of their large public universities in northern Alabama somewhere around those little mountains. better college athmosphere

And still a losing record vs UGA since any point in your history.

not worth talking about given Clemson and UGA have only played 4 times in decades. have to play every year or almost every year to talk W-L record.

fact is other than G Tech, and those 4 games with Clemson, UGA rarely has played ACC teams, UVA is only other one in regular season a couple of times, and played FSU once and Va Tech once in some bowls. Kind of amazing if you thnkg about it, given UGA is close to numerous ACC schools.

Of course you would say that since you're on the losing end.

1-1 in the two this decade. :)

uga has recent losses to vandy, a bad florida program, a bad SC team.

need 2 clean that up and start winning sec titles before u talk trash about clemson

good night

Clemson would dominate Athens is a pic-off
