If your team was better at basketball would you go to more games?

This is for the teams who don't have good attendance/are Kentucky. For some background, the SEC does not do a great job minus a few outliers of attending basketball events LINK

So if your team started rising to relevance, would you start attending more basketball games (I don't mean think about but actually buy tickets/go)? What type of season would it take for the rest of your fanbase to go and fill the arena?

Auburn

For me about Auburn: I love going to basketball games but cannot get motivated myself to go since we blow. I think if we started going 18+ wins I would go more frequently and if we made it to 22+ I would be a regular 26+ I would go every game I could

Fanbase- Auburn reduced the arena size but I still don't see us filling it up without us having back to back winning seasons and for us to on pace to win 25+ and ranked top 25. We need consistent success or our fanbase won't care. We just don't get jazzed up about basketball, especially boring defense ball Barbee doesn't play

I would honestly go to more basketball games if they let us park by the coliseum and not have to ride the bus from the Soccer Fields. Expensive/lack of parking is the number one issue causing poor attendance in college athletics

I go to a few games regardless of how good we are.

I think if the SEC just got better overall we would see better attendance numbers.

I mean every time Kentucky comes to town it is a sellout for whoever they are playing. I'm assuming Florida produces similar numbers.

That's a good point. I wish Auburn was good at basketball. I went to a top 10 team's game from the Pac12 once, it was electric. Almost as fun as football games. I just wish we could have that atmosphere

Not only being good, but playing a fun style too. I remember, Coleman Coliseum was packed and rockin' when JaMychal Green, Tony Mitchell and Senario Hillman were putting on a show each week. The only high flying baller right now is Retin.

This is basically an overall issue with college basketball though.

The shot clock desperately needs to be shortened.

I wouldn't because I don't give a shite about Basketball, just like most people in the south.

I'll be going to all of Carolina's home BB games whether we improve or not. My daughter is dancing with the Carolina Girls beginning this year! (And HELL NO I won't post pics!)

The reason i go to only a few is because i live 4 hours from Coleman. If closer i would be there more.

Not really. I'll pay a little more attention if A&M or Michigan is good, but NBA is way better than college bball.

Dumb. We have a lot of huge NBA fans in the south, the SEC is just terrible.

Kentucky isn't the only team who consistently has good crowds. Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, and Vandy all stick out in my mind.

If people in the South truly disliked basketball they wouldn't sell out every Kentucky game.

I went to a few games last season. I certainly would have gone to more if I didn't have so many apathetic friends. They're all bandwagoners . I'm hyping this year's team up and I think they are buying it.

Definitely.

Even if we weren't very good but had a player that was entertaining to watch I would go to more.

Florida really doesn't have good attendance at out games, especially student wise for how good we are year in, year out usually.

Does not compute.

I hope that South Carolina will one day be able to pack the house in BB games like we do in football. Right now that seems like a very foreign concept..though things are getting better with Frank Martin as our coach.
