our defensive players were great, our defensive coordinators were terrible. Should have clarified.

I'd be pretty cool with that. Not overly excited or anything. Wouldn't want to lose any cool points.

But I would probably sit around on my porch and nod my head slightly at the mailman when he came to deliver my bowl game tickets. Maybe give him the double finger-pistols or something.

Just glancing at the schedule...

Wisconsin
Sam Houston State
ULM
Mississippi State
New Mexico State
@ Auburn
@ Florida
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Alabama
@ Arkansas
@ Texas A&M

We're replacing our starting quarterback, best running back, and two best receivers. We lost some valuable players on defense as well. 8-5 would mean that we would pretty much lose all of our tough games. I'd be disappointed that LSU wouldn't have won a couple, but I won't lose any sleep over it. I am not expecting a crack at the College Football Playoff this season anyways.

True.

Every time I think of our defenses from those years I think of Rahim Alem (brother of Al Woods) kicking the ball after the play against Arkansas.

Would be the worst thing possible because that would satisfy Foley's ego just enough to keep 'Champ around.

Thank you for your concern, friend. However, my reading ability and comprehension are quite good. Good enough for anything that will come across a message board, for sure.

I stand by my comment, Auburn fans judge the season by whether they beat Alabama or not. That is your yardstick. You could go 11-1, and if that '1' is Alabama, there would be overall disappointment.
