I never said they weren't. This is just a general question about whether you think the best team or the team with the best resume should get it.

I vote the team that's earned it most, which you might say is the most deserving. It doesn't matter that you're the best team at the end of the season, because that may belong to a 7-5 team. What matters is what you've earned throughout the season.

Agreed. Why even play the games of you're not gonna penalize teams for losses because they are percieved to be the best team.

Anyone who says best team must hate college football, and really sports in general. It's why the motherfricking games are played. You can have the most elite talent and best coach in the world, but if you don't win the game who gives a shite?
It's why Texas played USC.

I agree, although I don't remember LSU fans thinking this way before the Arkansas game in 2011.

This HAS to be the procedure. The committee, nor the media, is capable of determining "the best" team. That subjective determination should only be used to separate teams with very similar resumes.

If I was on the committee I would start a massive mutiny that would vote the worst 4 teams into the final 4 until it was expanded to include the conference champions of the power 5, the top G5, and two wildcards
