If you were a coach looking for a job, and the guy ahead of you had this resume

And got fired for his trouble, would you bother applying or accept if offered?
Championships
1 National (2007)
2 SEC (2007, 2011)
3 SEC Western Division (2005, 2007, 2011)
Record 110–32
Winning-est coach in program history
Final year record (for which he got fired, assuming): 9-3?
The above constitutes failure in your boss's opinion.

Yea, go to A&M where you can get paid $5 million a year and not have to be worried about getting fired when your team loses 4-5 games a year.

Well whoever is the coach at LSU is getting a Ferari.
And Les is 13-10 in the SEC the last 3 years. The trend is not good.

So are we on a decline or no?

Considering I could make $4-5 Million a year and have an experienced and talented roster, including probably the most talented player in the country, yeah I would. Successful coaches are competitive, that's what made them successful.

Can you please post Mack Brown's resume up as well so we can compare?

Weird, we heard "decline" for 4 years and now all of a sudden everyone thinks LSU's program has been in great shape.

Sadly, this is the only stat that matters at this point.

So, you're saying the LSU job is the perfect one to take if you know you're going to get fired in 3 years anyway, so take it as a 3 year opportunity to coast and collect 5 million a year, plus 15 million buyout after 3?
Interesting.

No, I'm saying no coach worth a shite is going to go in thinking he'll get fired because he'll think he can win.

He is not the winning-est coach

How many coaches out there think they can beat Nick Saban consistently? I'd have to say Urban Meyer, and I don't know who else.

You have a valid point. Point taken and I agree

It's not just Saban, it's losing 2 of 3 to both Ole Miss and Arkansas, bad offense (no matter the OC), loyalty to shitty assistants (Peveto), lack of QB development, lack of discipline.
You know, all the things our SEC rant bros like to remind us of in the offseason.
If the only thing was an inability to beat Saban we wouldn't be having these talks.

Hugh Freeze is probably pretty confident about it. Seriously, do you watch any games other than aTm?
