It's not just Saban, it's losing 2 of 3 to both Ole Miss and Arkansas, bad offense (no matter the OC), loyalty to shitty assistants (Peveto), lack of QB development, lack of discipline.

You know, all the things our SEC rant bros like to remind us of in the offseason.

So... you finally accept that we were right.

Yes and it's been hard, because Miles was doing just enough until this season and he is very well liked.

I honestly like the guy and think that he's been great for LSU, the SEC, and college football. If LSU gets rid of him, and I hope they don't, I do hope he lands on his feet somewhere visible and not buried.

I wish there was some way he could retool his staff and make the needed changes, but looks like that's not gonna happen in time.

I doubt he ever coaches again. He will likely retire and enjoy watching his children play college sports.

I think that would be more risky than hiring a new HC and starting fresh. There is nothing in the past to indicate Miles will ever take his hands off the offense.

why try to be ambiguous about what position you are talking about?

1. LSU's success in the first phase of Les' tenure is not at all comparable to the second phase ie "The Decline" we are continuously hearing about...

2. You do not buy Apple's stock because it has experienced great success the previous 10 years (growing ~30% annually)... you buy apple stock based on its current growth prospects ... same goes with les. and I would short Les for sure

There isn't a cache of great coaches out there itching to go to LSU. It is a great program, but you have to play year in and year out in the toughest division in college football.

I would say they sure give coaches an opportunity to succeed but no doubt they want more championships.

Man would I love that opportunity.

And got fired for his trouble, would you bother applying or accept if offered? Championships 1 National (2007) 2 SEC (2007, 2011) 3 SEC Western Division (2005, 2007, 2011) Record 110–32 Winning-est coach in program history Final year record (for which he got fired, assuming): 9-3? The above constitutes failure in your boss's opinion.

So if I am confident that I am an elite HC would I apply for a job that has the following:

1.) One of the most fertile recruiting grounds per capita
2.) The only major college in the state
3.) Has a recent history of competing for national championships
4.) Has proven to pay its HC well
5.) More importantly, has proven that it will allow me to pay the best assistants
6.) Has one of the best home field advantages in the sport
7.) Has continued to improve its facilities
