I agree with this. While Mallet, or Wilson is a definite upgrade over Allen we look devoid of WR talent at the moment.

It doesn't even have to be Childs in particular. Him Adams Wright or Cobi would do.

Past 5 seasons? (2009-2013)

There's only one answer to that question for Texas A&M - Von Miller.

Greg Childs, before he blew his knee out of course.

This.

Allen has actually been pretty good this year, but he's still being let down by his receivers and our corps is thin on guys who can consistently catch the ball. For me, it'd be a toss-up between Joe Adams, Jarius Wright and Greg Childs pre-injury.

However, if we'd have had just one freaking half decent back 7 player in that 5 year window, it'd be that player.

I'd want Antoine Caldwell. Him at center would make our running game unstoppable.

Eta: didn't realize it said five years. Hmm I'd probably go with McClain or Dee Milliner.

shite, if we can lift the five year limit and go into the archives for imaginary eligibility and prime of health, I'd choose Derrick Thomas.

Moseley was great but he doesn't address our concerns on defense.

1 - pass rush
2- pass coverage

We either need to pressure the QB or be able to put a CB on an island so we can blitz the QB. Mosely would be an upgrade but we had him last year and we didn't force 3-outs or turnovers like we used to in 09 and 11.

The easy answer is DJ Swearinger for his leadership. We could definitely use Clowney's pass rush this year also so he would be my 2nd pick. I would say Connor Shaw but our biggest needs are on defense.

he addresses my only concern, and thats LB pass coverage. our dbs are going to be fine, our pass rush has actually been very good so far, even when not getting sacks we are affecting the qb on almost every play. the only thing im worried about is tight ends and RBs abusing our LBs in the pass game

Cool topic. I take Brockers or Drake Nevis on the DL for LSU. I can't tell you the last time we generated any pressure from the interior DL positions and it's frustrating as all hell to watch. The standard at LSU is a dominant interior DL.

I would say Mathieu, but that Defense was unreal all around and I would say Mett, but our offense was just as meh with him at times.

Several Aggies have posted some variant of:

Von Miller. Easiest decision ever

I think that this is the wrong answer.

It is true that Von Miller seems like the no-brainer choice, but I think that picking him would be a terrible waste of our "one player."

It is not that Miller isn't the best defender we have produced in the last five years. He IS, but that is not the question.

I think that you must go with the player that adds the most incremental benefit to the team, and that is not necessarily the best overall player.

Miller is/was great, but our 2014 team already HAS an awe-inspiring pass rusher in Myles Garrett. Garrett/Miller would indeed be terrifying, but Garrett & Co. are doing a very nice job.

So, I don't pick Miller for exactly the same reason I don't pick Manziel. We are in good shape at that position.

By comparison, our secondary remains weak, weak, weak.

I think that you MUST pick your best defensive back. I pick Coryell Judie.
