Maybe its just me, but Sept and some of the Oct games are just too damn hot to drink heavily at.
September is prime beer drinking weather in mid-Missouri.

First, the picture of Tiger Stadium in the OP is magnificent. I know I talk a lot of shite about LSU but that stadium is a shrine to college football.
Second, West Virginia conducted a pretty well known study that showed that serving beer at the games actually resulted in fewer alcohol related incidents both inside and outside the stadium. Without alcohol in the stadium, people pound drinks immediately before going in and they end up hammered by the time the game starts. It also results in people sneaking liquor in, which is far more likely to get people trashed that drinking stadium beer all game.
I always snuck a flask into Kyle as a student and usually ended up pretty hammered by halftime, but it usually wore off by the end of the game. I certainly wouldn't mind a couple beers to keep the buzz going in the second half.

LSU would finally have enough money to outbid Bama for a recruit.

In the box you have to bring your alcohol in the day before and store it you can't bring it in on saturday.

Was waiting on someone to bring this up...
quote:
Like most colleges, West Virginia didn’t sell alcohol inside the stadium; doing so would seem to collide with a university’s academic mission. But drinking still happened — often aided, as at West Virginia, by a “pass-out policy” that allows a ticketholder to leave the stadium, drink some more, and re-enter.
What to do?
The evidence suggests that college football and mayhem just seem to go together; and in 1996, the University of Colorado at Boulder, which did sell alcohol in the stadium, found a significant decrease in arrests and assaults after banning alcohol.
But Luck proposed a middle solution: start selling beer inside the stadium but kill the pass-out policy. The result? According to Luck, it’s been win-win: about $500,000 in alcohol sales and less alcohol-related trouble. Here are the WVU police numbers from 2011, when the policy changed, and 2010:
quote:
Bob Roberts, chief of the West Virginia University Police, told us that he was expecting trouble to rise, not fall, with beer sales in the stadium. So he was pleasantly surprised — and likes the new policy. “You know, you might as well face reality and try to control it. And at least keep the environment as safe as you can. That was always my goal — to try and make the environment safe.”

That's different from how LSU does it...

Forgot to say, I appreciate the sentiment regarding Tiger Stadium. I have a similar appreciation with what your Aggies have done already and are continuing to do with Kyle Field.
Both of our fan bases are blessed.
